Announced a few days ago, there's gonna be a Cassian Andor (from Rogue One) spin-off series, starring Dino Luga reprising the lead role. It's gonna be a spy/espionage show, set prior to the events of Rogue One, and will debut on the streaming channel Disney+. I don't do streaming services like Netflix etc, so I'll have to wait for a DVD release, but I loved Rogue One, and Cassian was one of my favourite characters in the film, so I'm definitely interested in this... www.space.com/42465-live-action-star-wars-cassian-andor-show-coming-to-disney-streaming-service.htmlRogue One is my favourite of the newer Star Wars movies I've seen from the last few years so this is probably the one I have most interest in as well - though Felicity Jones was so much a part of what made Rogue One stand out, I'm not sure how this prequel will be without her.
I missed the last couple SW films. Not sure I'll bother seeing "Young Han Solo", as I've never liked that kind of thing, avoiding even the recent Star Trek films with younger versions of Kirby and Spock and the gang, although everyone says they're good. Might try the other one.

I surprisingly found I liked Solo the most out of the recent Star Wars movies. Note I am not saying it is objectively "the best," just that I enjoyed it the most. It was fun, it was a lot better than I expected, and I was surprised at how not pissed off I was that "This isn't Harrison Ford!"

The new Star Wars content alone makes Disney Plus a must for me.
Everything else they have on it will just be gravy.

I'm getting a little tired of being nickeled and dimed by every little company having their own slice of content on their own streaming service. That said, depending on the depth of their back catalog and how many of their now-owned properties are included, this Disney one could become a staple in our household.

Yeah, It'll be interesting how it all shakes out... Disney is a big shoe to drop.. Netflix has ALOT fo Disney content.. will people leave Netflix to go to Disney, or will they be willing to pay for both? What happens when they next major property follows suit?
As far as DIsney goes, It's definitely depend on price and content.. if it's JUST Star Wars stuff, I'd probably be willing to wait for the DVD.. if there's other good stuff (Marvel, perhaps?) maybe.

Part of the reason why Netflix is all in on developing their own content now is because they are preparing for brand flight as companies form their own streaming services. It's why Hulu has upped the ante in creating their own content as well. The two of them are buying up options for series left and right, mining indy comics and other places as well as financing the development of all new properties. They are striving to build a library of in demand content that will keep subscribers with them when the major brands take their toys to their own networks. -M

They've already announced a Loki series, with Hiddleston confirmed to return. And I'm sure much more to come.

The Balkanization of streaming services just means people will be finding less than legal ways to get the content.

Starting November 30th, the new Star Wars Kids YouTube Channel will air Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures (an anime inspired take on classic moments from the saga):

The Balkanization of streaming services just means people will be finding less than legal ways to get the content. That might be true, or it could lead to a revival of people buying things on DVD/Blu-ray.... For my money, I'd rather own the season for the show forever for $19.99 than paying for a month or two of a service I might not want anything else on. Sure, you have to wait, but that's jsut as well IMO... that way you can know if it's a whole story or not.

I don't have home internet (not there enough) as it isn't cost effective so I buy those series which I want to watch and enjoy re-watching WHENEVER I WANT TO without having to pay to see them again. Streaming services are becoming like the Cable/Satellite packages where you are paying out for everything they have only so you can watch the 1 or 2 things you want to see. No thanks...

Yeah, I built a media server for my house, and I only put stuff on there I own a copy of. I have no issue buying stuff to keep. I use the streaming services also because they are currently cheap and convenient, but they seem to be becoming less so with every passing year.

The main (and almost sole) advantage of streaming services at the moment is their inexpensiveness. If they lose that, no amount of “quality house production” is going to keep me around as a customer... I’ll go back to purchasing the really good stuff on DVD, and miss out on all the “pretty good”, “not bad” and “just so-so” series that I currently watch because they’re already paid for.
