November 2009:
Citizen Rex #5 Written by Mario, drawn by Gilbert Hernandez. I really liked this SF story about a robot revolt, I think? I'd have to read it again to refresh my memory of the story but I remember enjoying the general ambience of the futuristic city and its weird characters, and of course Gilbert's art.
Starr the Slayer #3 Nice artwork by Corben, story was a bit silly, if I recall - trying a bit too hard to be ironic and generally terrified of anything that might be misconstrued as earnestness. Again, this is more a memory of my impressions than of the book itself.

December 2009:
Citizen Rex #6 - looking back, I think this was one of the better solo, mnon-L&R books Gilbert has done the last several years Godland #30 - always enjoyed this series, though at times it could all over the place - still, that was part of the charm. Phonogram:The Singles Club TPB - I tried this because it recommended by Howyadoin, one of our old CBR regulars. He didn't steer me wrong. I read the first collection before this one, of course, but missed it in this ten years ago thread. Starr the Slayer #4 - see above. Nice art by Corben and ... nice art by Corben.

A truly sad December 2009 for purchases.
Chronicles of Solomon Kane TPB Doom Patrol 4, 5, missed #4 in November as none on the shelf at LCS Fall of the Hulks Alpha 1 FF 572, 573, 574 (hadn't picked up the last few months so catching up) Greek Street 6, promptly went and found 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 while in the LCS JSA 34 Madame Xanadu 18 Northlanders 22, 23 somehow had missed 22 in November

Ooh, there's one I bought. I think I was buying a bunch of comics at this point but there doesn't seem to be a lot of overlap. (Also while I didn't get it when it came out I loved, loved, loved Greek Street in an "I can't imagine this appealing to anybody else in the WORLD" kinda way.)
