Because nobody cares about Captain Carrot and it's less likely to sell. Because there's less significant contrast between the characters so it's less interesting. Because the creators didn't want too. There's tons of potential reasons. I didn't literally mean Captain Carrot. It could be any DC character crossing over with any Warner Brothers character. Somebody mentioned above that there was a Batman/Elmer Fudd crossover. Why not others? ETA: Grant Morrison did it covertly in "The Coyote Gospel," which is considered a classic. So maybe not as ridiculous as icctrombone thinks, depending on implementation of course. I'm confused. There was a whole set of Looney Tunes/DC crossovers. JONAH HEX/YOSEMITE SAM, WONDER WOMAN/TASMANIAN DEVIL, LOBO/ROAD RUNNER, MARTIAN MANHUNTER/MARVIN THE MARTIAN, LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES/BUGS BUNNY, Lex Luthor/Porky Pig, Catwoman/Tweety & Sylvester, Harley Quinn/Gossamer, Joker/Daffy Duck and the aforementioned Batman/Fudd. Not all of them worked super well, but a number were interesting and Batman/Elmer Fudd was excellent. I also quite liked Jonah Hex/Yosemite Sam and Lobo/Road Runner.

I can add that there was a Superman/Bugs Bunny mini-series back in 2000. I didn't read it...Superman (Blech).

Was during the same period that DC was giving us re-booted Hanna-Barbera books (and H-B team-ups with DC characters).

(...) Harley Quinn/ Gossamer, (..). When I was scrolling through the solicits for these crossovers about 2 years ago, I finally learned that that big shaggy, orange, tennis shoe-wearing monster I love so much is actually called Gossamer.

The name is a retcon. The character was unnamed until 1980 when he was called Gossamer in Duck Dodgers and the Return of the 24½th Century.

I recall that he was just called 'the monster' in the original Bugs cartoons. But it's actually useful that he has a more distinctive name than just the generic designation.

When I was a kid, I remember I saw some Spider-Man comics that were just, basic early stuff. Was there any issue where Peter’s glasses are broken and Flash gets him new ones, made out of bottle bottoms?

Was there any issue where Peter’s glasses are broken and Flash gets him new ones, made out of bottle bottoms? What era would you have read this? "Basic, early stuff" is making me wonder if it's Spidey Super Stories. I've read a lot of Spider-Man reprints (but not Spidey Super Stories), and the glasses/bottle bottoms don't ring a bell at all. Is there anything else you remember about the story?

No reference to soda bottles, though, at least that I could find.

I thought you were asking why the Looney Tunes characters had teamed up with DC's superheroes, and not DC's funny animal characters.
I've with Slam_Bradley in loving the Hex/Yosemite crossover (not quite as good as Batman/Fudd, but close), and the story works on its own as a really good Jonah Hex story (Jonah Hex being one of my favourite characters). I haven't read Lobo/Roadrunner, but I think I'll have to check it out.

Flash pushes him and breaks the glasses and that’s what precipitates the boxing match. He cleans Flashes clock and I love it. He throws away his glasses stating that he no longer needs them. I guess the spider powers kicked in and healed his eyes.

I bought this Cookie Jar in the late 90's - when the Warner Bros store in the mall went outta business.
one of my favorite scenes from any Looney Tunes - Bug's doing Gossamer's nails:
