RIP to legendary character actor Dick Miller (Gremlins, Terminator, Piranha, Bucket of Blood, etc.). Miller turned 90 in December. I visit/post at monsterkidclassichorror.com where the following image was posted at the time. Also pictured: Roger Corman, Belinda Balaski (from 'Gremlins', 'The Howling', and other Joe Dante features), Jackie Joseph (original 'Little Shop of Horrors', 'Gremlins', an uncredited appearance in 'King Creole'), and Jonathan Haze (star of 'Little Shop of Horrors', 'It Conquered the World') Miller looks like F. Murray Abraham there.

My father passed away last night.
To make a long story short, he was admitted into the hospital back in October for kidney problems; was soon diagnosed with metastatic bladder cancer; was discharged from the hospital in November; spent two weeks undergoing radiation therapy but was unresponsive to it; couldn’t undergo chemo due to the poor condition of his kidneys; spent the last couple months at home deteriorating until we had to place him in a hospice; was in the hospice for 14 days, rapidly deteriorated in his final two days, then he died with my grandmother at his side. I wish I, my mother and sister could’ve been there with him at the end to say our farewells, but my mother has her own health issues at the moment and it all happened so very quickly.
My father wasn’t a very good father, and neither was he a very godly man, contrary to whatever he may have believed about himself, but neither was he a monster. I may be very unorthodox when it comes to my practice of Christianity and my interpretation of the Bible, but I certainly do believe in forgiveness, and I found it within myself to let go of the hatred and resentment I've let grow inside me for so long and forgive him his faults and his failures. Now I pray God speeds him along to his next life.

I'm sorry to hear this, Duragizer. Clearly a terrible thing to deal with at any time, but especially over the Christmas season. I'm glad that you have your sister and mother close by and hopefully your mother's health improves.

It's generous to forgive, hopefully it might speed him on his way. Some say you should forgive for yourself, for your own benefit, and there is that, but if you can be doing it even a little for the person who did you wrong or harm that's something pretty big.
I've also tried and been unable to but later suddenly found I was able to.

I also couldn't be there, as my wife had health issues and I couldn't leave her on her own. Forgiveness is a powerful thing, as it liberates from things that destroy from within.

Ah, their cover of "Summertime Blues" is unadulterated, proto-metal bliss, due in no small part to his drumming. RIP
