Here's my DD #158, purchased at the height of the Miller zeitgeist in the early 90s (the streaks are artifacts of the bag and printer; it's realistically about a 7.0). Some zip-head dentist friend of a co-worker extorted $50 (!) out of me for it because I was a Miller completist:

Someone has a 7.0 copy on mycomicshop as a consignment and is asking $156 for it currently...so it wasn't just during the height of the Miller zeitgesit that is was going for a premium... -M

Aww....don't feel too bad, it's listed on comicspriceguide.com for $52.50 in the grade so you actually gained a rate of return of $2.50... comicspriceguide.com/collection/marvel/daredevil/158/xjqqoOk, I got my 9.4 for closer to $11 in a DD bundle I nipped...but that was a lucky fluke

DD #158 is expensive. I get the significance and I don't think $50 is out of line for a 7.0-8.0. Lower seems to still command $30-40 and higher closer to $80.
My issue with it is that it is not even the first time Miller draws DD as that happened two months prior in PPTSS #27. That issue is sporadic, with sales of $25-40 for higher grade but also sales of $5-10 depending on the day.
All I know is that if you want a Miller DD run in 6.0-8.0 shape, if you can average around $6-8 a book on the non-keys and then say $40 and $100 for DD #158 and #168 respectively, you are doing okay.

Why ANY Valiant books are worth more than $5 is beyond me.

I just want the classic DD #7. But cannot justify that much for a comic book when I have it in 2 different MMWs. But it is by far probably my favorite comic book story for many obvious reasons.

It's also the 2nd most valuable DD book so it's a keeper if you ever decide to nip the original in the bud

So I realized I really want to read Gotham Central when the Omni got announced... so I'm debating format choices: TPB: There are 5 soft cover trades... one of them includes a couple other things (I guess from a crossover) and 3 issues are skipped (I assume they're part of a bat-crossover as well). Currently selling on ebay for $40-ish.. probably about the same price IST or Amazone would sell them for. HC: 4 Hardcovers, which just collect the issues of the series (1-40) with no extras..looks like the going rate is around $60-$70, unless I get lucky with a current auction the single issues are running from $80-$120 on ebay for a lot of the whole series...That's pretty comparable to my comic shop (which would cost around $90).. Mile High (assuming a 50% codeword) would be on the high end of that... maybe a bit over the high end The Omnibus is $99.99..so. I assume, $60 if pre-ordered through my usual DCBS I'm leaning toward the Hard Covers, but may get the singles, too... anyone know if any of the singles is particularly rare (neither Mycomicshop or Mile high have #36) or valuable (a few of the early issues seem to be worth 3-4X more than the rest.. maybe Montoya coming out? or taking over as the Question? I have no idea when that happens.)

I'm seeing Marvel Team-Up #65 (first Captain Britain) selling for $53.00 in NM on Ebay. Since when did this book spike? Is he coming in a movie?
I got mine for closer to $5 a few years ago.

I was subscribing to MTU at the time and thought he was great a character in a terrific two-parter by a solid creative team. Still prefer the original "open-scalp" mask and red costume (sorry!). The book also features the first appearance of Arcade, a pretty cool Claremont/Byrne villain who also plagued the X-Men. Maybe that explains the price?

This is what they are going for on Lone Star's site: mycomicshop.com/search?q=Marvel+Team-Up+%2365&pubid=&PubRng=If it IS Arcade's appearance causing it to have such a hefty price, then that's ridiculous. Who the hell cares about Arcade? He's just a jerk red headed villain ruining it for the rest of us red heads. Bah.
