One of the things I really dislike about a lot of modern computer colouring in comics is how it makes characters look overly shiny and metallic, as if their skin and clothes are made of chrome.

Weirdly enough, it's not. Dick Briefer had been doing a comedic Frankenstein strip in which the creature was a lovable, wouldn't harm a fly benign being. When the horror craze took off however, he was asked to change the tenor of the series. He then created a Monster that was vicious, terrifying, and not hesitant to kill and break people in half. So, same creator/same artist, but completely different strips. These covers are about as close as the two series ever got.
