I keep an Excel spreadsheet tracking all of my comic books, as well as keeping my collection tracked online at Comic Book Database. As I was updating my spreadsheet today, I found that the numbers don't match; I am showing one more in the Excel version that I have recorded on the website. As I need to make sure that the two reconcile before it drives me crazy, I am in for a VERY long weekend... OCD sucks. There. I said it. UPDATE: I'm more than a week in and I still can't find the error. I thought I'd found it yesterday, as I'd missed recording two issues of What If? that I'd recently picked up in the Excel spreadsheet, but when I added them to it, it just swung the pendulum to being +1 in that medium. However, I've found in the past that it's easier to figure the problem out when the Excel sheet is higher than the online database, so there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully I will have this resolved by the end of the day today, because I'm not sure my wife can put up with another week of me pouring over spreadsheet print-outs to cross-reference them with my computer screen.

In a way, it's better to have that devotion to your collection than not. I can't stand re-buying the same issues over again because of bad record keeping.

Even a fanatical listmaker like myself, who has maintained the same electronic inventory for over 30 years, can get bit by that particular bug. I've accidentally bought the same couple of issues of Master of Kung Fu three times now because I failed to update my want list in a timely fashion. I hate that! Cei-U! I summon the diabolic duplication!

I do still buy duplicates occasionally, because I don't always keep my paper Want List completely up to date. However, it happens much less nowadays because most of the books I'm hunting are higher dollar and thus less subject to impulse purchases.
Also, luckily, if I do happen to buy a duplicate out of the dollar box, I just give it to my older daughter and get big props for being an awesome dad, even though it was only because I screwed up.

This year I have upped my hunt for Bronze age Superman books and I was buying them faster than I could list. I ended up buying about five comics twice. Good thing they are relatively inexpensive.

My new standing solution for cheap non-flippable doubles of comics....decoupage! Pass the scissors...

I collect so few series in single issues so I rarely buy doubles. When it does happen its usually because I am buying a lot with several issues in it and some of them are issues I already have.

UPDATE: The long nightmare is finally over! I had a little time this morning (OK, actually a lot of it, since things are pretty slow at work right now), so I opened the downloaded list from ComicBook Database and my own spreadsheet and started a title by title comparison. After about 30 minutes, I found the missing book. It's a TPB, which I didn't used to keep track of, so when I began to do that in my spreadsheet, it looks like I just missed adding it online. Now I can finally return to actually reading comics again instead of dealing with this crap.

I don't care who is kneeling during the National anthem. A number of the people that are NOT kneeling are terrible people ( rapists, holding guns to womens heads, assaulting women) so who can judge what's in a persons heart ? I tune in to watch the game not to find heroes.
There I said it.

Advocating free speech is not, and should not be misrepresented as, an alt-right position. Voltaire was nothing like an ultra-conservative.
Lambasting people like Youtubers Dave Rubin and the Armoured Skeptic (or even worse... trying to prevent them from saying anything by starting de-platforming campaigns) is not only unhelpful to the liberal worldview, it also proves them right when they criticize what they call the "regressive left" for stifling different opinions.
The way to oppose a position we see as wrong is to show, by sound arguments, why it is wrong. It is not by preventing people from even entertaining them in the first place under threat of social excommunication.
There! I said it.

The brand new movie "IT" is the scariest horror movie I ever saw.

Air Quality where I've live is so horrible in the past two days that's giving me headaches all day long and aspirin can't do anything about it.

It always seems that I'm one of the few on this forum when it comes to holidays. I guess I have to get a life... There I said it through tears.

My biggest Court day is Tuesday. So I pretty much work every Monday holiday. I just got back from meeting with clients in jail.

I'm working too, plus I just took a long lunch to meet with my tax accountant. The deadline for 2016 taxes is a week from today (I file for an extension every year).
