A catchy and upbeat tune that drips with delicious anti-nationalistic irony. Die Prinzen always put a smile on my face.

The Blade runner 2049 soundtrack.
I’m a fan of movie soundtracks, and not always of movies I liked (or even saw). In this case I loved the movie to death, so there is that. It is written by Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfish.
There were several great soundtracks written by Zimmer (the dark knight rises, gladiator, pirates of the Caribbean) and he’s quite good at coming up with a catchy theme... but let’s be honest, many of his soundtracks consist of repeating the same theme over and over and over again. I don’t mind, because when said theme is good, it is quite efficient! but here we are treated to a very trippy musical journey, very respectful of Vangelis’s efforts on the first Blade runner movie. It’s not very melodic, true... but very atmospheric and very powerful.

^^ I was listening to the soundtrack of the original Blade Runner yesterday. I probably will pick up the BR 2049 soundtrack too at some point.

It's been a pretty quiet Thanksgiving evening so it left me pondering what I would consider my top 10 favorite songs of all time. It took some thinking, but I narrowed it down pretty close. Order is pretty interchangeable.
1. Commodify Your Dissent - The Dead Milkmen 2. Little Green Bag - George Baker Selection 3. Mrs. Robinson - Simon and Garfunkel 4. Take Me Home Tonight - Eddie Money 5. Cayucos - Cayucas 6. Fly Me to the Moon - Julie London 7. Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You - Frankie Valli 8. Happy Hour - The Housemartins 9. Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now - The Smiths 10. Story of My Life - Social Distortion

Just discovered a side project by Vernon Reid of Living Colour called Vernon Reid & Masque...
instrumental stuff, but a great listen, added to my playlist for when writing or drawing.
Here's a complete show of them live playing in Warsaw, Poland...
