I could say the same for Terry/Rachel Dodson and Salvador Larroca. Some artists just have the knack for it.

I really want to say Clark Kent's better half and the world's greatest reporter (1938 to present): But as much as I have a huge crush on Lois Lane, and as gorgeous as she is usually drawn I'm not sure she's meant to be a world-class knockout in the actual DCU rather than being 'merely' pretty.

Yep, I guess my examples of Monica Lynne and Bernie Rosenthal fall into rossn's "merely pretty" category.
On the other hand, two others that I'm pretty sure fall into the knockout category within the comics themselves are Red Sonja and the Black Widow.

Black Widow's beauty could well be considered one of her weapons, I guess. Here's some great examples of that ... From my Classic Comics Christmas last year ...

In terms of male characters, the one that springs to mind is Thor - who regularly has women going gaga for him in Avengers.
It's those dreamy shoulders.

P Craig Russel’s Poison Ivy in the Hothouse story in Batman LOTDK shows he can equally draw women with the same sexual prowess.

P Craig Russel’s Poison Ivy in the Hothouse story in Batman LOTDK shows he can equally draw women with the same sexual prowess. What's funny is I was a big Russell fan, for Killraven and Elric, as well as his Jungle Book stories and opera adaptations. I was reading an interview with him, in the Comics Journal, when it was remarked that he drew the most beautiful men. He replied, "That's probably because I'm gay." You could hear the sound of the record being scratched and the brakes squealing in my brain as i reversed to re-read that statement. I knew very little about Russell, personally and let that tidbit sink in. Then the thought hit me, "Yeah, that would explain why his work was always a bit different from the average superhero artist. regardless, Russell drew equally beautiful women, as well as average men and women; mostly, more realistic men and women. The same is true for Eric Shanower, who demonstrated his talents in his Oz books and Age of Bronze, where he drew a much less hyper-masculine Greek army than the heterosexual Frank Miller. If you want beauty, you can't beat the romance comic work of Jose Luis Garcia Lopez (Praise Be His Name)...
