It could very well be! And that a trench coat you're getting? Is there a fedora to go with it? -M Could be.
I own multiple trench coats, and more fedoras than most people would consider sensible. (And that's not counting the Akubras, Stetsons, homburgs, bowlers, top hats, etc. I like hats.  ) I started a hat collection to wear for myself just last year. I have (3) trilby, (1) Panama, (1) fedora and I’m not sure what this classifies as but I liked it and bought it. My ultimate goal is a bowler but I really don’t have confidence I can pull it of. I do like the homburg and porkpie. Just haven’t found one I like yet.  |

The key to wearing a bowler is cocking and raking it in a manner that is stylish, but not over-exaggerated. I say "Go for it!"

Agreed. I don't wear my bowler very often (mine's a Kaminski, an Australian maker) as the wide-brimmed fedoras are better at keeping off the sun and the rain. But anyone who does any kind of steampunk costuming needs to have a bowler in their wardrobe.
As tartanphantom said, the secret is to cock it at a rakish angle and channel your inner John Steed. And a bowler is the perfect hat for doffing to ladies. |

Funny enough, watching The Avengers at my grandma's on cable in the 80's and 90's is precisely how I got my first crush and first male idol. And I've been wanting to try a bowler and hook handle umbrella ever since. (It'd be cool if it had a fencing sword in it too.)
