I probably won't be able to listen until Thursday, but right off I love that cover!

I'll have more to say later, but the shocker of this episode is that Cei-U! was the guy who had to get bleeped repeatedly.

Did I? Not intentional but also not surprising. When you grow up in South Tacoma, certain words become embedded in your vocabulary pretty much from birth.

Another great episode. Loved George's tinfoil hat. Kurt was a fantastic guest. Hope you have him on again soon.
I started reading comics after Crisis so I don't have strong feelings about it. I do think it was responsible for the endless cycle of reboots, so there's that, and I hate what it did to my beloved Jonah Hex, but my sweet spot for collecting comics was the post-Crisis period through to Zero Hour, which was the last event comic I collected. Wouldn't mind a podcast focusing on that era, as people tend to dismiss it a lot, but they were the comics I grew up on for better or for worse.

The only thing I love more than Post-Crisis DC is Pre-Secret Wars Marvel, so yes, I think this may well end up being an episode or three down the road.

Kurt wasn't nearly harsh enough.

Kurt wasn't nearly harsh enough. You wouldn't believe what I cut out! I'm still confused about the conspiratorial tirade against Don Knotts and The Easter Bunny.

Great stuff guys! Great chemistry. I'll chalk up George harshly dismissing the Captain Marvel universe to his tinfoil hat being on too tight or something 🙂

I'll chalk up George harshly dismissing the Captain Marvel universe to his tinfoil hat being on too tight or something 🙂 Well, the Captain Marvel that was introduced in the early 70's was goofy as all get out. A superhero with an alter ego of a 13 year old just doesn't fly. The age of comic fans is probably 25-60 at this point and they can't relate.

I don't think you have to personally relate in order to enjoy, but Kurt's point about it just not being right for the tone of the DCU is apt. Captain Marvel Family on its own = awesome, but it's hard to make it work in a shared universe full of gritty, nuanced heroes
