I just got an e-mail from my local police and they caught the guy that murdered my neighbor -- this same guy will be charged another count of murder for murdering another man 2 months ago at a local business over a drug deal. The police department sent me a picture of the guy that murdered my neighbor and I told them that I've seen this guy last March lurking around our area and hanging near our laundry room. So, this guy is being slammed with 2 counts of murder -- 2nd Degree. Glad to hear the guy got caught, Mech. Hopefully you can sleep easy now.

{Spoiler: Click to show} Did anyone else think that hooded character at the Soul Stone location was going to be Death? To be honest, the Red Skull twist was pretty cool and I like that they didn't dwell on it. He's just there, we get a very vague explanation, and we move on.

I think that I'm going to see the Black Panther movie today. Maybe it's an older man thing but I just can't get myself to the theater to watch movies like I used to. I like going to odd times when the theater is mostly empty. Sometimes I'll be one of maybe five people at the movie.

I've been trying to deny it for several years now, but a number of recent events have finally forced me to confront myself about my possible depression and anxiety. I've made an appointment with a psychologist for this week and I'm terrified of what I might find out about myself. It's scary, but I hope I can find some peace of mind soon.

Why can't you have both? The standard advice is to put as much into your IRA & 401k as they'll let you. The problem is that they don't match my contributions till at least 1 year of service. Since I'm not going to be getting any contributions from them now, I'm wondering if I should contribute only until the theoretical matching point and putting a little more in my personal IRA.

Man, retirement is a complicated thing, ain't it? My company is asking me to open my 401(k) account and decide how much I want to contribute. Now I'm stuck between a Roth and traditional 401(k) or whether I want to contribute to my personal IRA. Adult life is confusing.

Thanks for undertaking this again, Kurt! It's always great to see everyone's lists and stats together. (P.S. You forgot my #2 pick, Professor Zoom. )

Looks like it'll be a few more days before I can post the summary thread. Between my power chair deciding to die (it just needs new batteries but I have to jump through the usual bureaucratic hoops to replace 'em) and a new round of back pain, spending any time working on the ol' puter is difficult. Soon, though, I promise! Cei-U! I summon the unavoidable delay! Take all the time you need, Kurt. Your health comes first.

Rey being just another person, actually someone who came up from very humble circumstances, was one of the strongest points of the movie for me. I'd much rather The Force be egalitarian than confined to a particular bloodline. Let me add that I didn't find the humor jarring in any way. To the point that I actually have had to sit back and think about what the "humorous moments" were that everyone else is having problems with. Maybe I wasn't paying that good of attention. The Hux/Poe telephone gag was pretty cringe-worthy IMO.

Checking in from India! How is it so far ? Pretty decent so far. It's more of a "visit the relatives" trip than an actual vacation so we stayed at my cousin's house in Bangalore for a bit. Grabbed dinner and some drinks at a nice restaurant with my parents so a decent start to my time here.
