58% funded after less than 24 hours - and my mum hasn't even chipped in yet! (though I am fast running out of friends and relations to do puppy dog eyes at). From now on we're in Blanch DuBois territory and relying on the kindness of strangers. I got the three pager finished too:

I just finished - well I have to resize a planet and then I'm finished - a three pager which I was hoping to get posted tonight but things got in the way. 'Things' being the pushing of the buttons that launched our Kickstarter campaign. It's a modest little fundraising effort to pay for the printing of: Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible....

Loved this! Thank you! I'm getting adventurous. I'm trying to learn French at the moment, despite having no facility for languages. I'm teaching myself by reading as many French and Belgian comics books as I can get my hands on - see, comic books CAN be educational! This is my first attempt at writing a bilingual strip:

I start to get over my phobias: This is the first page I have inked with a brush rather than pens and it's the first page I have coloured for a long time. Ruins by liam, on Flickr The joke's ok too.

I am worried about Mile High Comic's eBay store of late. I purchased a book on March 20th and here it is nine days later and they have not shipped it yet. Their negative reviews are beginning to skyrocket. I wonder what's up. Chuck doing it all himself these days? According to his latest email newsletter, they are catching up with a backlog of orders because they were shut down by a snowstorm last week. That's good to hear. I had been slightly worried. I'm in the UK and have bought a couple of piles from them recently. With their One Price for any Number of Comics policy it's cheaper for me to buy from them than it is to buy from UK dealers. I'm looking for low grade reading copies of stuff. They are way cheaper in the US because, I guess, collectors over there are looking for better grade comics and they just aren't so many of what I am looking for over here. Having to wait for a couple of weeks for things to turn up is a bit of a bugger though.

Hah! I just discovered a new technique.
I hate inking my strips. Of all the stages it is the one that brings most disappointment. I like writing them, and the pencilling is just the best bit - but inking to me is often a joyless chore. I've had a 7 panel page of spacebabe wrestling tentacles sat on my drawing board for a week waiting for me to have the courage to ruin my pencils.
Today I had an inspiration.
I inked the girl's tits.
Then I had to do the rest of that panel so it didn't look like I was even more of a perv than my wife thinks I am already.

I seem to have committed myself into publishing a collection of my comics before a local con in the autumn. Here's my latest which may or may not make the cut:

This arrived in the post the other day: a slightly family friendly version in that Barbarella had her boobs touched up (fnar fnar!) for the more family friendly film tie-in edition (the middle image here) but good stuff all the same.
