"Honestly, the Carol Danvers stuff at the end completely slipped my mind." - Thor, Cap, Iron Man, Wonder ManThat's kind of the point of the thing, I think. But you're right that there's a lot to unpack in that issue, and about Claremont and Rogue as well.

My first choice for this thread would have to be Avengers Annual 10: Claremont at the top of his game, Michael Golden art, first appearance of Rogue, the Avengers vs. the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and cameo appearances by the X-Men and Spider-Woman. Doesn't it sort of depend heavily on your familiarity with Avengers #200 and the subsequent fallout from that tale for AA10 to have any resonance, though? It's a cool story, but it's "Part II."

In fact, I believe there was a publisher, a minor one, who only used one staple, right in the middle, for a short time. Anyone here can confirm this? I have a couple of Fawcett books from the period that have just the one staple in the center of the spine. They were not the only publisher to exhibit that feature. ETA: Here's proof FWIW. It's Captain Marvel Jr. #13 (sorry for the humblebrag). See how there's just one staple in the spine? And here's the centerfold:

Lowe's is so much better. Hear, hear! I bought a washer/dryer combo from Lowe's for one of my daughters at Christmas and the experience was a breeze. Took about 10 minutes online to set the whole thing up, including take-away of the old units. Didn't even have to change out of my PJs. Delivery was prompt, professional, and painless. Would recommend. Wait, this isn't Yelp?

Stay away from sites like Monster, Indeed, and other sites that aggregate postings from multiple sources. You have to really sift through a lot of crap to find anything promising, and you'll get bombarded with "opportunities" that are barely relevant, if even, to your skillset and experience; I got lots for financial planning, insurance sales, and real estate agents. Also, get ready for lots of spam for work-from-home scams, franchise ownership, and other garbage. Mileage can vary. The last three positions I've held since 2012 have been a result of being head-hunted through Monster. You quickly learn to distinguish between spam, cattle calls and legitimate listings. I used LinkedIn and some others as well, but for whatever reason, Monster was the one that delivered. It also helps to update your profile frequently to keep it fresh.

Even though I'm black, I'm sick to death of having diversity in comics being shoved down my throat. There! I said it! To feel that strongly, you must be even older than me. That's something! I never had a chance, really. It started with Sesame Street, which entered its first season the same year I achieved object permanence. The show was ground-breaking for its use of realistic sets populated by charming, inventive, and very life-like puppets in order to down-play the fact that there were Blacks and Hispanics living in the neighborhood. Ugh! Next thing you know, Spider-Man's slumming it on The Electric Company, a show notorious for its (Oscar-winning) Black and Hispanic cast members. And don't get me started on Luke Cage. . .the black Wonder Man!

Well without the lizard's legs, it would be a very phallic statue Inasmuch as it would then be a snake? Yes.

Is that supposed to be the crocodile's baby? And why does it appear to have a rather large um sack? It appears to be an idol or statue of some kind. What you perceive as a "sack" is the base. Not judging you though.
