DE Sinclair reminds me of an oil company that my Uncle told me about. Sadly, no relation. There used to be a couple of Sinclair gas stations a few years back in central Wisconsin, but they're gone now. But I got a baseball cap with that logo on it before they went under.

I thought everyone knew this about Kurt already. Think about it. Nobody merely human could know so much about comics.
(to borrow his shtick) I summon the outing!
How awesome would it be if aliens came to Earth and decided that their top priority was discussing classic comics? Finally proof of Extra-Terrestrial intelligence! Plus I would feel better about the whole aliens visiting thing, as opposed to the old Robin Williams routine where he said about the aliens "they weren't the cute little guys we thought they were. They were big, and they were green, and they were pissed".

Over here in France, it also is a holiday, simply because its the day WWI's end, l'armistice! Yay France! Yay the French Resistance! Easily counted among the bravest combatants in WWII.

The more we talk about Carson and Trump, the less we talk about Bush and Rubio -- and that's exactly what their supporters want. The Republican candidate for president needs to remain completely neutral and inoffensive until after the primaries. In related talk, someone explain to me how we have a "liberal" media when Trump and Carson are all we are talking about? Even NPR did a segment on Trump's teenage years yesterday morning. Because everyone loves the sideshow? And train wrecks?

I was surprised that the "Prince of Persia" movie did so badly. I really liked the movie and was disappointed that there wouldn't be any sequels. If you really liked it, you should be happy it stands as a whole and wasn't ruined by unecessary sequels There is something to be said for that. "Highlander 2", I'm looking at you.

Today in the US is Veterans Day & Remembrance Day in Canada, a day to remember all those who've served in the Armed Forces. If you know a veteran, or just meet one on the street, take a moment to thank them for their service. The treatment of some of our veterans, especially those who served in life threatening combat situations, has been shameful in many cases, particularly for those returning from the Vietnam war. Just a moment of your time can make their day, to know what they contributed hasn't been forgotten.
It also wouldn't hurt to let them know about some of the freebies that are now available for vets on or around Veterans Day:

Hmmm, my math (as usual) must be suspect because no way did I read 60 comics an hour, even with my skipping letters pages, Bullpen Bulletins, etc. As for my collection, it was about 80% Marvel titles at the time, the rest being a mix of DC, undergrounds and the odd Gold Key, King or Charlton. Cei-U! I summon Evelyn Wood! I was asking since those statistics of 1 comic book per miute would either obliterate the currently discussed myth (?) that atomic/golden/silver/bronze age comics were much more dense read than current publicatoins, or that you are some sort of closet alien invader with different mind-skills
Or just that the math was indeed very optimistic, hehe. I thought everyone knew this about Kurt already. Think about it. Nobody merely human could know so much about comics.

We're planning on watching the Thanksgivings episode from the 1st season this Thanksgiving. I won't spoil it, but I bought the 1st season of WKRP DVDs primarily for that episode. Funny story. .my Parents were in the studio audience for the taping of that episode. we hear every year how awful the studio smelled. . . apparently live turkeys don't smell all that pleasant! That is hilarious! Did they say if they liked the episode (aside from the smell)? There's one line from it (if you're familiar with the episode you probably remember it) that I just have to quote to crack up the whole family: "With God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly"

I can't remember the last organization I belonged to that wasn't accused of being a super villain team. Well if the shoe fits.... -M Banana peels as shoes? What could possibly go wrong? Oh, right, that:

I don't understand his popularity at all, as much as I hate Trump's brand of polotics the guy is charismatic so I can sort of get the pull he commands...but Carson has like zero charisma. I've never seen any charisma in Trump, myself, ever since Spy magazine was referring to him as "the short-fingered vulgarian". He has an obsession with thrusting himself into the spotlight but I don't think that's the same thing as charisma. He's the spoiled child in the room who has to be the center of attention, screaming "Look at me! Look at me!"
