When I was a kid I saw her name in the credits on Metamorpho and for some reason I thought her name was pronounced "fra-DON". The first time I heard someone say "FRAY-dun" I thought "What?!?" and then, "Oh, of course..." I just found out no minutes ago that it wasn't fra-DON. Thanks, Rob!

I'm wondering if that photo of Stan wasn't a joking reference to the iconic pin-up of Burt Reynolds in Cosmo back in 1972. The Stan photo must have been around 1981, when the Batman-Hulk tabloid came out. {Spoiler: Click to show} Oh, yeah, it definitely was. I knew someone else of a certain era would remember that.

Much has been written about Fradon, but i've always felt she was criminally underrated by some comic book historians, considering the gravity of her talent and on one of the medium's most important characters, along with co-creating Metamorpho. Which character was that? I think he meant Aquaman.

Heck, if the line did well enough, you could work in more obscure stuff like Dial H for Hero, Amethyst, Kamandi, etc. And Sugar and Spike. But who would know how to write such a strip with Sheldon Mayer's knack for sophisticated innocence?

He looks like the baby that Kevin Spacey and Richard Anderson might have had.

So much of the irreverence and sheer fun that was the hallmark of Metamorpho was due to the joyful, exuberant art of Ramona Fradon. Couldn’t help but smile when you read those stories.
No one else could quite capture her style.
