Does Superman's dickery know no bounds?

That Batman #239 is by far the most terrible Neal Adams cover I have seen. Definitely in his bottom 5 I would say. Almost looks as if he's trying to capture the elements of a Golden Age Christmas cover and missed on every aspect.

Does Superman's dickery know no bounds? Nope. You could easily fill a thread with just the crap he does to Jimmy Olsen.

Wertham should have been less worried about impressionable kids and horror comics with the bad example Superman seems to consistently set. Edit: And on second inspection ... is Batman smiling too? Does he see what Superman is doing and is going along with the prank? *Gasp* Don't tell me, Batman was a dick too at one time?

Batman #165! I bought that one when it was new. Kind of a strange story.

Back in the day, women had to take classes in skiiing while learning to be a Nurse. That's pretty cool - I never would have guessed it was a Dick Giordano cover if his name wasn't on there. I wonder if they didn't colour in the ski goggles or even show a trace of reflection because it was considered necessary to show the girls' eyes back then. Could you have a comic now that told stories like this? I mean where the story was just about young people doing things that were considered admirable or even heroic but in no way superhuman.

That's why the years from just after the Golden Age through the early Silver Age are so much fun. More than just superheroes.
