I'm old enough to remember when Sundown was a huge hit on the radio one summer (1974 - had to look it up to check). One of those songs I never got tired of, no matter how much it was over-played at the time.

Whenever I hear the word showdown I immediately start hearing this song in my head: I hear Showdown and immediately think this: Gordon Lightfoot. . swoooooon And I think of this, a deep soul record that has one of the best endings in R&B music: |
