No Holiday Special blu-ray in the near future either, then? That'd be kinda pointless, seeing as THS was shot on videotape and is forever stuck in standard definition.

Can we have a new final trilogy begin with Luke waking up sweating and shaking from a Force Dream with Force Ghosts Yoda and Ben beside him saying this was a possible reality shown to him should Luke turn his back on being a Jedi Master and training new Jedi's? PLEASE?!?!?

So I finally got around to watching most of The Mandalorian (two episodes left to go). Yeah, yeah...I'm late to the party. But my youngest son convinced me and I was finally able to fit it in.
I gotta say that this is the most fun that I've had with anything Star Wars related in forty years. I was never enough of a fan to read the comics or the EU books. I thought RoTJ was about half a decent movie, the prequels were unmitigated garbage and there was about 3/4 of a good movie in the newest trilogy. Rogue One was okay, but lacked any suspense because we already knew what was going to happen. And Solo...was there.
So I was pretty surprised to find that this show has been pretty fun so far. I like that Favreau has no issues with letting the show wear Star Wars' underlying influences on its sleeve. And while I've seen some complaints that certain episodes don't sufficiently "forward the plot" I think that's a pretty silly complaint. Life doesn't always center on the plot. And with only eight episodes in the first season it seems unlikely it's going to be off-track for long. It feels a bit like X-Files fans who complain about anything that isn't Mytharc related.
Probably will finish up some time this weekend...but at least it's fun...which is more than Star Wars has been in a long long time. Now, if only we could have kept soccer moms and right-wing kooks from turning The Child into an annoying meme.

I haven't watched it myself yet, but I've heard really good things about the making of the Mandolorian documentary so there's that to watch yet as well

Excellent video alert: Someone has edited X-wing footage from the Star Wars films to Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone".

I honestly don't understand how anyone could think that the original scene isn't the best of the lot.
I mean, even apart from the fact that it doesn't contain clunky (MacClunky!) CGI... just dramatically, Han shooting like that, unprovoked, is such a badass moment!

Apparently The Empire Strikes Back is the box office champ again. I did my part to help as my family went to see it Saturday evening.
