Other than codystarbuck, are there any other wrestling fans here? I used to be one until TNA lost Sting to WWE; and now I've watch Lucha Underground and Ring of Honor occasionally about once or twice a month. I don't watch WWE anymore and haven't watch anything at all for the past 5 years. At my age, I'm thinking of stopping both Lucha and Ring of Honor and paying more attention to All Elite Wrestling.

Other than codystarbuck, are there any other wrestling fans here? I used to be back in the 80's, 90's and early 2000s. I'd watch both WWF and WCW on Mondays, and my buddies and I would order the PPVs, grill some food, and drink some beer. Then we discovered that one of our local bars would get the PPVs, so we would go there to eat and drink, which wound up being cheaper than getting the PPVs ourselves. Every once in a while, back when I had cable (we dropped it in November 2016), I would watch Raw, but I felt like I'd outgrown it by that point. My all-time favorite wrestler was Triple H, and I was also a big fan of Edge, Christian, Chris Benoit, and Chris Jericho. Never really liked the big lumbering strong guys with the three-move skillset, but more the guys who could work a match and if they were good on the stick, that was always a plus.

My all-time favorite is always the Sting back in WCW/TNA ... and finally WWE. The Captain ... I'm the opposite of you ... Triple H is my most hated, sorry about that.

I'm a fan, but a semi-casual one now.
I began watching in the late 80s. As a kid, the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior were magical to me. As time went on, I progressed to enjoying technical encounters. Sue me, but one of my favourites was The Warlord. Well, he was larger than life, not the kind of guy you'd expect to bump into in a grocery store!
When WCW arrived on UK TV in 1992, I began following that, too. When I could, I'd buy videotapes for promotions such as the USWA, AWA, etc. I do subscribe to the WWE Network. And am taking a keen interest in All-Elite Wrestling.
I do not watch Raw. Three hours for a weekly show is too long (and many fans seem to say the same). I like The Flash, but if it aired weekly, and every episode was three hours long, I would not hang around to philosophise. When Raw was one hour, great; when it went to two, well okay. Three? Too much, man. Too much. Less is more. Fact is, one has a life which involves work, meeting friends, family, other interests, etc. With monthly PPVs and other WWE shows, who on Earth really has the *inclination* to watch three hours of Raw?
If it wasn't stepping on anyone's toes/duplicating anything, I'd be willing to start a general wrestling thread here if that was okay?

Speaking of Hogan, and I could save most of this for another thread, but years ago, I wrote a blog entry with a "What If" scenario about him remaning with the WWF, circa 1993.
I know, I know, his heart wasn't in it in 1993. Why the WWF Champion wasted his time, with Brutus Beefcake, challenging Money Inc. for the WWF Tag Team Titles makes no sense to me. It's clear his heart wasn't in it. He said as much in an interview conducted by Findlay Martin, editor of Power Slam (a publication that ran from 1994 to 2014).
But what if, right?
I still though there was mileage in Hulkamania, circa 1993. It was a pipe dream, but Hogan VS Bret Hart would have had much value.
That aside, there were plenty of heels that could have kept Hogan busy that year. Hogan VS Razor Ramon, Hogan VS Narcissist Lex Luger and Hogan VS Yokozuna (in a rematch from KOTR '93) would have been welcomed by me. There may even have been some value in having Hogan bodyslam Giant Gonzalez just for the pops (I'm not suggesting they could have recreated Hogan/Andre).
If his heart had been in it, and if he'd been able to face Bret Hart, I think Hulkamania could have had one last big run in the WWF back then.

I liked wrestling as a kid in the 70s, but had lost interest by junior high, and the last time I tuned in to wrestling was somewhere around 1981.

Leonard to the Clippers, and Paul George as well.
Kawhi Leonard signs with the Clippers
He signed a deal is for four years, $142 million.
Paul George to the Clippers
This is monumental. Paul George just finished third in MVP voting in the 2019 season, and he will now team with the Finals MVP in Kawhi Leonard. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be a star in this league, but to get the best, you have to pay up, and the Clippers did so. The Clippers gave up an unprecedented haul for George, sending 4 unprotected 1st round picks, 1 protected first round pick, and two pick swaps.
Per Marc Stein, the Clippers are giving up their 2022, 2024, and 2026 1st Round Picks, the two Miami picks (2021 unprotected and 2023 protected 1-14), and pick swaps in 2023 and 2025. That’s an absolute motherload, but it will all be worth it if the Clippers win a championship.

The World Cup has been the best I've seen in quite a while. And the media over here appear to have covered it properly - and not just as an afterthought.

On a night dedicated to offering tribute to the late Tyler Skaggs, the Angels threw a combined no hitter against the Seattle Mariners. The game opened with Skagg's mother throwing a perfect strike as the honorary opening pitch. All the Angels wore Skagg' #45 and Skaggs' name on the jersey, and after the victory, the entire team laid their jersey's on the mound to honor their fallen teammate. It was an opener situation for the Angels, the first pitcher throwing 2 innings, and then another pitcher came in and threw the final 7.
