Four Dodgers making the All Star Team makes me smile.... should've been 5 with Jensen but I'm not complaining.

Thank you Germany, for not only putting a severe beating on Brazil on home turf but for making me 5 grand richer in wagers

I missed the game as I had to work, came home, zapped past the score and really, really thought there was some typo there.

Didnt like to see Fred get booed off - he was poor but he looked utterly broken with the amount of hate in the stadium for him.

It's Brazil's worst beating ever in the tournament...not to mention 5 goals in the space of a few minutes.
Complete and utter humiliation.
I thought the crowd would be rampaging...but they took it fair and square....

fred was booed every touch after 20mins, the team was booed off at half time and the brazilians gave the germans the oles in last 15mins. they totally turned on their team and that was very upper middle class crowd not hardline ultras.

Well yeah, this embarassment on home turf is never going to be forgotten. When a soccer nation that's ranked so highly can get belted so badly, heads will roll.

It has been the craziest WC I can remember - defending champs Spain being knocked off so easily and so early, Costa Rica going so far, unexpectedly lopsided scores between what were thought to be evenly matched sides followed by the winning team barely scraping by a weaker opponent ... and now this. Shocking result. Gotta feel bad for Brazil.

How much did you wager to get $5k off that match?
I'm not well versed in the sport at all (and don't following betting at all), but I figured this would be a pretty close (odds wise) match.

Yesterday's match of Brazil/Germany was one of the most insane and lopsided behind whoopings I've ever seen in football. While I'm happy as hell as my team goes to the finals, I did feel sorry that Brazil. I really thought there should've been a Mercy rule, like in other sports. Our office was going insane as I was listening quietly and smiling as Germany dominated like nothing I've seen before.

And the Sox youth movement officially begins. Sox DFA A.J. Piercynski, call up rookie catcher Christian Vaxquez, so tonight's starting line up features 5 rookies as position players-Vazquez, Betts, Holt, Bradley Jr. and Boegarts. With prospect Rubby De La Rosa starting on the mound...(don't think he still has rookie status though).

Also reports are that Yanks phenom Tanaka is going for an MRI today after getting shelled last night. Hopefully for Yanks sake, he's not seriously hurt, they are riding him this season and have a lot of years and dollars invested in him. If that arm is damaged, Yanks ccould be hurting for a while.

How much did you wager to get $5k off that match? I had wagers with buddies (esp at the bar) from $100 to as much $1k each with one person. I got all cash today too. I only lost one major wager ($2k) when England lost...and didn't wager on Netherlands-Argentina as I couldn't pick a definite winner although I liked Netherlands. So far I'm about $8,500 up after a couple of other misses....but not bad huh?
