As much as I despise the Flyers I just watched the documentary Broad Street Bullies (2010) and it was a pretty entertaining look at an interesting time in hockey. For those unfamiliar with the era Philly literally fought their way to back-to-back Stanley Cups wins. Some of the footage looked like a gladiatorial arena just crazy brutal. The film culminates with a game between the Flyers and the "Red Army Team" as well as them losing their third Stanley Cup appearance to the Canadians. I still consider the franchise to be a bunch of goons and this is where it originated. All that being said their comradery is still very inspiring and they are forever a unique part of sports history.

Manny Pacquiao agrees to fight Floyd Mayweather; but Mayweather hasn't made his decision yet. If Mayweather backed out it will be most disappointing decision in Boxing History. I want that fight and if that doesn't happen; it will be a very sad day for Boxing Fans around the world. I think that this fight will never happen in my lifetime. It's On!Thanks for reporting this and as a Boxing Fan - I just can't believe that everything was worked out for the best interests of all parties involved. Too bad, that this fight didn't happen 3-5 years ago. I will be looking forward watching it at my friend's place on May 2nd. Thanks Action Ace!

I have to say I love how the Red Sox as a whole and Sandoval especially have responded to the hoopla over his weight caused by Steve Silva's photo. The team doing Panda Pose photos show a level of chemistry in the clubhouse only a few days into spring training, a team that will stick together and stand up for each other, and I love that Panda challenged Silva to come work out with him for a day on the field to see how hard he works at his craft to be ready to play. Silva, to his credit, accepted the challenge, so I can't wait to see how that plays out.

DEAN SMITH - NORTH CAROLINA BASKETBALL COACH DIES AT AGE OF 83Former North Carolina Coach Dean Smith dies at the age of 83 and I was sadden of the fact that he coaches basketball for 36 years and taking from Micheal Jordan, he was a Mentor, a Teacher, and a 2nd Father to me. I was sad when I turned on ESPN this morning and learned of his death today. ESPN Link of Dean Smith's Passing You played ball for UNC?

I'm left confused. It's not really possible to be a mentor to someone you've never met.

Alright, so spring training is upon us, time for wishful thinking...
2 questions...
1) A this point, who do you think will be in the World Series? (you can predict all the playoff teams if you want)
and 2) if you had your way, what world series match up do you want to see?
My answers...
1) I think in the AL the division winners will be Toronto in the East, Detroit in the Central, and LA Angels in the West, with Cleveland and Chicago being the wild cards.
In the NL I think it will be Nats in the East, Cards in the Central and Dodgers in the west with Pittsburgh and Chicago being the Wild Cards
I think it will be Nats/Angels in the WS
2) The WS I would love to see is Red Sox-Pirates or Red Sox-Cubbies.
My full predictions (yes I know I seem mad in some of them) an asterisk means I think hey will be contending for a playoff spot until at least Sept
AL East 1. Toronto* 2. Boston* 3. Baltimore* 4. NYY 5. TB
AL Central 1. Detroit* 2. Cleveland* 3. CWS* 4. Kansas City* 5. Minnesota
AL West 1. LA Angels* 2. Seattle* 3. Oakland 4. Houston 5. Texas
NL East 1. Washington* 2. Miami* 3. NYM 4. Atlanta 5. Philly
NL Central 1. St. Louis* 2. Pittsburgh* 3. Chicago* 4. Cincinnati 5. Milwaukee
NL West 1. LA* 2. San Diego* 3. SF* 4. Arizona 5. Colorado

My dark horse surprise teams are the NYY and CIncinnati-if everything goes right for them healthwise and bounceback wise, they will be dangerous, but there are too many questions in both line-up, pitching staff, and general make up for me to pick them to contend, but they have the pieces to do so if the baseball gods smile upon them.

Reports re that the Sox are the winners in the Moncada sweepstakes and will sign the highly touted 19 year old Cuban prospect.A year in the minors and 1B will be open after Napoli's contract expires at the end of this season-Will Panda move to 1B so Moncada plays 3b or does this mean they might look to trade the can't miss kid Boegarts for a pitcher and have Moncada play SS?

Many, many options here, most too far in the future to be able to predict. However, this kid is already 6 feet, 210 and won't be 20 till May. I'm betting he's only getting bigger and stronger. The two spots I don't think he'll play are short or second. Third, as you said, mrp, if Panda goes to first, or left if Manly Hanley does. (He looks like a block of granite, btw.)

Ex-White Sox star Minnie Minoso dies
From ESPN.COM
CHICAGO -- Minnie Minoso, who hit a two-run home run in his first at-bat when he became major league baseball's first black player in Chicago in 1951, has died, the Cook County medical examiner said Sunday.
The medical examiner's office did not immediately offer further details. There is some question about his age but the White Sox say he was 90.
"We have lost our dear friend and a great man," White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf said in a release. "Many tears are falling."
Later Sunday, in a conference call, Reinsdorf said that Minoso "was always upbeat."
"I don't think he ever had an unhappy day. At least if he did, he never let anyone know he was unhappy," he said. "He was always upbeat. He always had a smile. He always had something nice to say to somebody. He never hesitated to sign an autograph. He never hesitated to try to answer people's questions. He never complained."
The White Sox also tweeted tributes to Minoso on Sunday morning.

Uhhhh yeah, so I think I want to kill myself now. This offseason is complete bullshit and is officially the worst in NFL history. I dare someone to challenge it.
Updated offseason transactions.
- Harbaugh gone - Fangio gone - Willis gone - Justin Smith gone - Ray MacDonald gone - Gore gone - Bruce Miller arrested. - Culliver gone - Stevie Johnson gone - Cox gone - Crabtree gone - Iupati gone - Borland gone
- Torry Smith acquired - Reggie Bush acquired - Darnell Dockett acquired
Oh and we have a dickhead owner for the long haul.
