Ulf Samuelsson's name on it? Funny, I have a swift kick to the nuts with his name on it too.

Ulf Samuelsson's name on it? Funny, I have a swift kick to the nuts with his name on it too. Ulf is one of those guys you love when he's on your team and despise when he plays for someone else. After he left the Whalers and I saw him through the eyes of a fan of an opposing team, I liked him a whole lot less than when he played for the great green guppies, and railed against his antics and tactics every time I saw him play. But when he skated for the hometown team... -M

Go Warriors! Fantastic season I'll never forget. This is going to be so great for the bay area. 40 years in the making. Wow. Can't wait to get my hat and t shirt tomorrow.

The Cubs sweep the season series from the Mets 7-0. The last time the Cubs swept a season series from another team that they played at least 7 times was 1885.

Brock Holt to the All-Star Game! I want to see him come in in the second inning and go out and play a different position every inning after that... never happen, but I'd love to see it. -M

Huge baseball weekend coming up in Pittsburgh, as the Cardinals visit the Pirates for a four-game set. The Cardinals looked to be running away with the division, but the Pirates have had the best record in MLB over the past two months and have crept back to within 4.5 games of the Ratbirds. Nothing like a clash between the teams with the two best records in baseball right before the All-Star Break.
And just how big is this series? So big that ESPN is televising from Pittsburgh for their Sunday Night Game of the Week on a weekend where the Yankees and Red Sox are renewing the perpetual struggle between the Evil Empire and the Almost-But-Not-Quite-As-Evil Empire (yawn...bored now). Even bigger is the fact that ESPN is actually acknowledging that Pittsburgh has a team, as up until this season, the Four-Letter was only aware of the existence of 9 MLB teams (Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Cubs, Cardinals, Dodgers, Angels, Giants, and Tigers).
