Hey shaxper looks like the reboot has a release date of June 7, 2024 and set pictures are starting to hit the net for folks to see, especially pics of Bill Skaarsgard as the Crow if you're interested in taking a look. I know CBR has them, as well as a few other sites. -M

shaxper trailer dropped earlier today... -M Thanks. I can already tell it's a better script than the original film. More carefully considered on multiple levels. That being said, I don't think this film is for me. I'm definitely not the target demographic. And that's okay.

shaxper-curious if you've seen this? And if you did, what you thought. It's not getting particularly good reactions form what I can tell (some are saying it will overtake Borderlands for the worst movie of the year). -M

I don't see many current movies nowadays anyway, and I won't be making an effort to see this one unless I hear something great about it. When I began this thread, I was hoping to see someone take the brilliant atmospheric elements of the original and infuse it with a better script. This director has every right to go in a new direction, but it sure seems like he's giving us the exact opposite: totally different atmosphere that heavily borrows from the original script.

Just read how this was a total bomb at the box office. Lots of things have been total bombs at the box office recently. Cinema attendance is way down. Hits are the exception, not the norm currently, and it rarely has to do with the actual quality of the film. Not saying the Crow remake is a good movie, haven't seen it, but now, more than ever, there is no causal relationship between movies and their performance at the box office. -M

The couple of articles I saw said it was the biggest box office flop of the year. That doesn't sound good by any standards.
I was really surprised they remade this in the first place. I don't think the original was a huge success at the box office, more of a cult favorite. And even that probably had a lot to do with the notoriety surrounding Brandon Lee's unfortunate on set death. I know there were sequels but I don't think any of those did well. So not sure who thought it would be a good idea to remake the original.

I'm really reeeeaaaaally glad I didn't go see this: I saw the trailer a couple weeks back, and it was not promising. But you never know with trailers, because I didn't know the contours of the story. This video really lays out some damning plot problems. It might just be a vibe for right audience.

I'll wait til it streams. Last thing I saw on the big screen was Longlegs.
