Ugh. I droped SIM after one issue. It's the metastasis that grew out of the cancer that was Axis. [/quote] Heh.. I don't think it's THAT bad... it's just the fact that it seems that every big storyline they have Tony side with the bad guys that makes it cringe-worthy, I think. Also, it's already getting tiresome. Superior Spidey was a good story that had a purpose and good character development... this is a gimmick, and a medicore one at that.

Well hehe, I have no idea who are the Celestials ! Ah. If you're unfamiliar with the Celestials then I can see why you'd fall back on Galactus. They're all big guys in silly costumes

They are from Marvel, though they could have been in both or either company, as they were Jack Kirby creations in the mid-70's. So thematically, they're right in line with the stuff he was doing in New Gods and the Fourth World before returning to Marvel and debuting the Eternals to continue his personal mythology. The Celestials are kind of the custodians of life in the universe. Kind of: they're responsible for seeding intelligent life around the universe - which is why humans and many alien races are humanoid, as they are all made in the Celesitals image - but they periodically return to planets they have seeded to judge whether or not the lifeforms are progressing as they should. If not, the Celestials wipe them out and start the experiment over. After the Eternals series was cancelled, the storyline was picked up in a massive Thor storyline that roughly ran from #280-300 and heavily involved the Eternals and the various pantheons of Earth mythology banding together to stop the Celesitals from judging and destroying Earth. It's a pretty epic storyline.

It's a pretty epic storyline. Irrespective of whether it was a good idea to bring the Celestials and the Eternals into the Marvel Universe, that Thor storyline is probably the single best retcon I've ever read. It took several hanging plot threads going back more than a decade and a half, from different comics, plus Wagner's Rheingold tetralogy, and wove a magnificent tapestry out of it.

Casanova and Captain Marvel for tomorrow. Plus maybe that Rat Queens that was supposed to come out last week? (Was it just my comicshop that didn't receive it or was it delayed for longer?)

Does anyone know what the DC "Convergence " series is about? Are they combining all the earths ? From what I gather it's worlds scooped up by Braniac and put together, pretty much along the lines of what Secret Wars at Marvel will be. Lots of snapshots from the past with some kind of "new" twist to get fans to buy it. -M
