Charles Soule's She-Hulk was such a wonderful series, I really don't get how the horrible "Wolverines" series is partly written by the same guy. The boyfriend keeps getting it, so I have been reading, but I am about to stop. I wrote down some brief thoughts on issue 11 here: t.co/CObMiEpxYA

I think that basically very few writers ever do good on X-Men while they can be brilliant on other series (for a few examples: Brubaker, Fraction, Gillen, Carey (though he has had parts I liked a lot) or going all the way back to Lee or Arnold Drake.) Same goes for the spin-offs like Wolverine. There are exceptions though: I really liked Aaron on both Wolverine and X-Men, for instance.

The folks doing Archie's horror titles have supposedly finally gotten their act together. They announced today that they will be launching a new horror imprint, cleverly titled Archie Horror. This line will have three books in it: Afterlife with Archie, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and an as-yet unannounced third title. They also announced that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #2 will finally be coming out on April 15, while Afterlife with Archie #8 will finally be coming out on May 6. That means both titles will have had a six month gap since their previous issue by the time they come out. But they totally swearsies that there will be no more delays like this going forward. Here's the whole story: www.ew.com/article/2015/03/19/archie-comics-announces-new-horror-imprint-teases-seriesThat Sabrina Comic looks cool Think I will be checking that one out The first issue was very promising. Afterlife is good too. I'm interested in that third title

Cheryl & I were just saying the other night that it had been a while for both titles. Love Afterlife, and Sabrina is cool, though I want to see more of the Sabrina in the Afterlife continuity. We left her on kind of a cliffhanger, eh?

Just read the first TPB of Ms. Marvel. I really liked it. I think I am going to do a comic swap with my son. I'll read Waid's DD, and I'll have him read Ms Marvel.

Huh, looks like I'll be trade-waiting the rest of this because, honestly, digital copies of volume 2 are going for far more than I paid for the physical book of volume 1. This makes me sad.
Digital is $15.99 for 5 issues. That's about $3.20 per issue. If the issues are $3.99 for paper copies, that's only a savings of $.79 per digital copy. Did I math that correctly?

They're actually 2.99. So you're a little more.

For the longest time (up until just a few short months ago I believe) the Marvel $3.99 books came with the free digital code to redeem for a free digital copy, while the $2.99 books did not. Ms. Marvel and Waid's Daredevil were among the last of the $2.99 books, but when DD restarted at #1 it jumped to $3.99 and gained the digital code. Soon after just about every Marvel except Ms. Marvel was at $3.99 or cancelled and I am not sure if the free digital codes are still happening or not as I haven't bought a new Marvel book since November. I believe they left MM at $2.99 because it was making inroads into nontraditional markets and customers, so were using it as a sort of loss leader/gateway for those new demos to come to Marvel. -M

I bought Red One #1 from Image this week. It's about a Soviet spy going to the USA in 1977 to pose as a superhero. The issue was almost all origin and set up, but the lead character is quite interesting and there was a surprising amount of humor. There is 32 pages of art and story for your $2.99 so it's a good deal. Be aware that the Dodsons are doing the art and they will be on vacation for a bit, so there will be a break after issue #2.

So, at $3.20 for digital copies, I would actually be paying more than what the paper books cost?
I was going to go digital for current books to save room, and then just buy collections for series I really enjoyed.
There's no real incentive to do that, though if digital copies cost more. For something I cannot even actually own.
