Personally, I couldn't decide whether poor Roger was a garbage machine or a mailbox.

I took my father and mother in law to a casino riverboat when I still lived in St. Louis, but all I did was sit at the bar while they went into the actual casino portion. I am very weary about gambling, with the possibility of addiction just like drugs. So I choose not to, just to cover myself, though I know there are a lot of people who can do it, my in laws, and have no problems. Edit: Now I'm thinking about the walking, talking slot machine from that episode of Twilight Zone ... creepy!

We only go maybe a couple times a year because my wife likes to play Bingo. After we lose at that (basically every time. My wife has never won and I've only won once, well over a decade ago), we sometimes invest a couple of dollars each on penny or nickel slots. So for our part, I think we have it under control. But I can certainly understand where you could be concerned. The rush can be enticing.

I am surprised a monster with a whole bunch of penes was allowed to be published! Then again, that's pre-code, right?

Regarding the Code, looks like this may have hit the stands in late 1952 (according to comicvine it's cover-dated Jan. 1953). And yeah, I've been wondering about the green guy's--er, appendages--myself...
