it's been a difficult week for me in terms of staying on plan, as I went to see Avengers at Alamo Drafthouse, and way overdid it with Thanos Burger (double meat patty with several types of cheese), and a Salted Caramel milkshake. I mean, it could have been worse - I did swap out the fries for fruit, and drank water instead of soda/tea. but that was on Wed - then on Friday, we had a company celebration, where i tried to stick to proteins (shrimp, tuna/salmon bites, Roast Beef) and veggies..but did give in and have a slice of cake and a cupcake on top of it. then yesterday, we met up with friends who have birthdays between mine and yesterday, and we ended up at Serrano's for Mexican food (on Cinco de Star Wars, instead of today ). . . so ate too many chips, and had a Mexican Martini. (but at least ordered chicken / pork fajitas and only ate 1/2 (the other 1/2 will be for lunch tomorrow), and again, drank water. so it's not really the issue of what I'm eating, but rather the quantity of it.. I ate way more of the Serranos food than I should of, even with taking 1/2 home, as I was full but kept eating. avoiding the scale until next weekend to not make myself crazy. and looking on the bright side: 1) I DID stick to my "no sodas" rule, only drinking water, even when out (and even tho I had a milkshake and a cocktail during the week. .at least no soda). Technically I stuck to the "no fast food" rule too, as even tho I had a burger, it was at a restaurant, not a drive thru. 2) I DID stick with my exercise, so every day, I still did between 45-1:05 minute walk (either outside or on treadmill) 3) checking my blood pressure today at the Grocery Store, it came in at 117/76. . .so not only "normal" as considered standard, but also well under the 140/100 my Doctor wants me to stay under. This is without any BP meds, that I've been off of for almost 3 years at this point. so I guess it's been a "win" week, even tho I feel hugely fat.

Day 21
4/13: 278 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/15: 277 lbs, 51.5" diameter 4/16: 273 lbs, 50.5" diameter 4/17: 270 lbs, 49.5" diameter 4/18: 271 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/19: 268 lbs, 48.5" diameter 4/20: 267.5 lbs, 49.0" diameter 4/21 270.5 lbs, 50" diameter 4/22 268 lbs, 51" diameter 4/23 267 lbs, 49" diameter 4/24 265.5 lbs, 48" diameter 4/25 264 lbs, 48" diameter 4/26 263.5 lbs, 49" diameter 4/27 267.5 lbs, 48" diameter 4/28 266 lbs, 48" diameter 4/29 264 lbs, 48" diameter 4/30 263 lbs, 47" diameter 5/1 262 lbs, 47" diameter 5/2 263 lbs, 47" diameter 5/5 265 lbs, 47" diameter
The weekend getaway was a blast, and it was also an invaluable experience in regard to my diet. While going off diet was fun and liberating, the fact is that I continued to find my diet food MORE satisfying than anything else I was eating. Each day, we'd do a huge off-diet lunch, a diet dinner, and skip breakfast the next morning. As we were in Amish Country, random bakery treats throughout the day were also the norm. But really, the closer I stayed to diet while cheating, the more I enjoyed my food. Pies and cakes did little for me, but apple butter on wheat toast was like crack to me. And, no matter what I ate, coming home to my chicken breast fried in soy sauce and cumin was the absolute best.
When I was at this point in the diet 4 years ago, going about it with less knowledge than I have now, it was a miserable undertaking, and I knew I was eventually going to fold, which was why I put pressure on myself to lose weight FAST before I'd give in forever. This time around, I'm doing it right, and it's really become a lifestyle. I don't want to give this up at all!
And, by the way, I only gained two pounds after eating whatever the hell I wanted this weekend? That's amazing, and it's going to come right off tomorrow.

I weighed 198.8 this morning. 204 201.8 198.8 I wish I could say I'm a dieting wiz but the truth is that my bigger dog is very sick and I'm not eating much.

Day 22
4/13: 278 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/15: 277 lbs, 51.5" diameter 4/16: 273 lbs, 50.5" diameter 4/17: 270 lbs, 49.5" diameter 4/18: 271 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/19: 268 lbs, 48.5" diameter 4/20: 267.5 lbs, 49.0" diameter 4/21 270.5 lbs, 50" diameter 4/22 268 lbs, 51" diameter 4/23 267 lbs, 49" diameter 4/24 265.5 lbs, 48" diameter 4/25 264 lbs, 48" diameter 4/26 263.5 lbs, 49" diameter 4/27 267.5 lbs, 48" diameter 4/28 266 lbs, 48" diameter 4/29 264 lbs, 48" diameter 4/30 263 lbs, 47" diameter 5/1 262 lbs, 47" diameter 5/2 263 lbs, 47" diameter 5/5 265 lbs, 47" diameter 5/6 262 lbs, 46" diameter
You know, I can't remember the last time I 100% stuck to my diet for a day. Every day, I cheat a little, and every day I get a better sense of how to do that in a way that feels good. Today, I took the kids out for frozen yogurt and allowed myself a generous serving of one of the healthier options there, and even allowed myself to put gummy bears on top. The sugar was a bit much, but it generally felt really GOOD, and I still dropped to both my lowest weight and diameter yet tonight. I have truly retrained my cravings. The sweets and fats that used to satisfy me make me feel awful now, and I find myself truly craving things that are mostly good for me.
It's working.
And I'm truly having a hard time envisioning a time when I'm going to want to give up this lifestyle. Meal prep isn't too bad once you get the hang of it, I'm saving a fortune in grocery bills, and I'm truly satisfied when I eat. I hope it stays like this forever.

Went to my gym today (got back a few minutes ago) and now I've gained 3 pounds on a 7 days trip to London. Now, I'm at 250 and thinking of getting it off in a week or two.

Day 23
4/13: 278 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/15: 277 lbs, 51.5" diameter 4/16: 273 lbs, 50.5" diameter 4/17: 270 lbs, 49.5" diameter 4/18: 271 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/19: 268 lbs, 48.5" diameter 4/20: 267.5 lbs, 49.0" diameter 4/21 270.5 lbs, 50" diameter 4/22 268 lbs, 51" diameter 4/23 267 lbs, 49" diameter 4/24 265.5 lbs, 48" diameter 4/25 264 lbs, 48" diameter 4/26 263.5 lbs, 49" diameter 4/27 267.5 lbs, 48" diameter 4/28 266 lbs, 48" diameter 4/29 264 lbs, 48" diameter 4/30 263 lbs, 47" diameter 5/1 262 lbs, 47" diameter 5/2 263 lbs, 47" diameter 5/5 265 lbs, 47" diameter 5/6 262 lbs, 46" diameter 5/7 261 lbs, 46" diameter
I continue to cheat when I feel like it, I continue to feel totally satisfied, like I've gained instead of missed out by doing this diet, and somehow I'm still getting away with it. Today marks my new low, and if I keep this pace up, I will be down 20 lbs by the end of the week, after only 26 days.
Mind blowing. I have NEVER lost weight this easily before. I truly truly hope I can sustain this kind of (almost) effortless progress.

don't wanna "harsh your vibe". . but expect it to slow down greatly. . .it's very easy to drop a lot of weight, if one is pretty overweight.
so there's lots to lose, if you cut your calorie intake suddenly (it's why the folks on "My 600 lb Life" - watch it every Wed on TLC - can drop 60-80 lbs in a month).
once you get closer to a healthier weight, the loss will really slow down. . . which is why it's always SO damn hard to lose the final 15.
but you're doing good, and keep it up.

You're absolutely right. It's what happened four years ago when I did this. But that's why I'm so excited that I'm enjoying the diet and not feeling any discomfort doing it this time around. I can sustain this for the long term, even when the results slow down considerably. But I am absolutely stoked to be down 20 lbs in 26 days anyway. Not gonna lie about it

Still fighting, She's been at the vets since Saturday and they are trying things to see what she responds to. We can't afford to have the dog scanned , they want 2 grand just for that. I'm trusting God for her healing , if it's his will.
Thanks for asking.
