yep. . I was in St. Louis this past Fri-Monday. . and have been struggling to get back on plan. but went for my 1:15 walk today, and it's not like we didn't do a TON of walking while in St. Louis, hell, I probably got way more steps in than I do at home. but did eat bad the entire time, including Sodas, Gooey Butter Cake, Fried Ravioli, Italian food in little Italy, and Ice Cream of course. . . we had to experience what the city has to offer! and got home so late on Monday, that we ended up with Wendy's drive thru at 10pm - so can't even say "at least it was no fast food" but back on plan with exercise as of this morning. will get on scale next weekend to give it time to move thru!

So I decided to try SlimFast. I'm 179 and would like to lose at least 5 pounds, maybe a little more (don't want to be too ambitious yet.) You are supposed to have 2 of their drinks a day in place of 2 meals, and a "sensible" dinner. You can have a couple snacks in between (they have specially made snack bars for that purpose.) I also stocked up on fresh fruit and celery sticks.
I got through 2 days of it so far but I'm so hungry all the time. None of that stuff fills you up at all. I guess you are supposed to get used to it.

Slim Fast is hard . . . my only suggestion is to drink a lot of water to help fill you up.
as those shakes do NOT help with hunger pangs.

I guess you are supposed to get used to it. I guess it works for some people. I personally feel the most important ingredient in a good diet is finding an approach that satisfies your hunger. For me, I fill up on yogurt, lentils, and chicken and feel totally satisfied. The key is to find good sources of protein and fiber that will make you feel satisfied without giving you all the fat and additives that you don't need. Good luck!

My goal is to get to 230 by end of July; and 220 by end of August; and finally by mid-September ... hopefully back to my High School Weight of 215 by October. With Thanksgiving and the Holidays ... I can afford to go up to 230 and that's my target by February. I'm still eating 4 small meals a day; and that alone helps me a great deal and exercising three times a day for 10-15 minutes helps too.

Still holding around my all-time low. Just been too many situations lately where it has not been possible to eat my diet food. The worst part is, I feel physically and emotionally lousy now when I am off-diet for too long. I've gotten too used to feeling GREAT.

I'm finally starting to feel I'm making a bit of progress - I'm motivated, I'm logging all I eat and keeping to my calorie limits, I'm cycling regularly and today I finally broke through 192, which was more like a brick wall than a number on the scale.
190.6 today. Looong way to go until I'm at a happy weight - at least another 20 pounds - but after months of being plateaued (196-199 and then 192-196), I feel like I'm on the right road

this thread's been quiet for a little bit, so how is everyone doing?
as to me. . I got back from St. Louis and worked my butt off to get back on track, and actually came in ~191.8 in mid June.
then got "stuck" and slipped up a few times. As is my trend, and what I always struggle with, I don't just slip - I typically backslide pretty badly.
in this case, I stuck to the exercise, even as I made some very poor eating decisions (dealing with life stuff with my Dad, and depression that the scale isn't moving).
At least I can look at the bright side, and know that it COULD have been way worse. . and at least since I kept exercising I counteracted the worst foods I ate.
Weighted on 7/5, and came in at 192.4 (so gained about a 1/2 lb in the past 3 weeks).
so: started back on plan on 4/1 at 218 lbs 1st check in was on 4/14 at 211.6 lbs 2nd check in was on 4/22 at 208.2 lbs 3rd check in was on 4/28 at 206.2 lbs 4th check in was on 5/10 at 201.8 lbs. 5th check in was on 5/18: 199.2 lbs. 6th check in was on 5/26: 198 lbs. 7th check in was ~ 6/13: 191.8 lbs and 8th check in was 7/5: 192.4 lbs.
I'll check again on Friday (7/12), and hopefully trending down a little bit. . but even if not? that's still down: ~26lbs from start back on plan.
that's my status, how are y'all doing?
