Hey, good for you! If you can cut back the snack and not feel hungry, all the better! Oh, I feel hungry. I feel hungry all the time. But I'm in control of it these days, rather than the reverse. I can keep it in the background and not let it bother me. Good! I've managed to cut back on my food intake some. I find I eat more throughout the day and my meals are smaller.

I kinda ballooned to 189 lbs after the breakup (I am 183.5 cm or 6' 1/4"). I managed to get it back down to 184 in the past two weeks by eating better and running more. Goal is 172 lbs, which would be my pre-relationship weight.

My starting weight: 218 lbs My ultimate goal 180 My weight this morning 215 (-3)
My short term goal for July 1- 190
Day 2 Yesterday, was funny type of uneven day. this was what I ate: 7 am OJ 10am 2 apples 130 roasted chicken and salad 830 scallops and 2 salmon burgers Impressions of the past day:it was an uneven day because I ate almost nothing until 130 in the afternoon. But I figured just to go with the flow. I ended up buying my food in a supermarket and eating it in the back if my mail truck. I drank about 3/4 of a gallon of water while I was working. It wasn't enough because when I went to the bathroom, my urine was darker than it should be for that much consumption. Because of just getting home from a long plane flight, I wasn't able to prepare anything so that's why I was winging it. I want to get things together for today but there's still lots to go in my home. I might end up winging it again. Also, I had a low level Headache while I was working which I attribute to my mind being pissed off that I can't eat 20 Big Macs a day anymore. ( just a joke, I only ate 10 a day.)

Day 11
My starting weight: 265 lbs My ideal weight for my height: 185 lbs My goal: 220 lbs by August (15 lbs per month for three months)
Today's weigh in: 254 lbs (-1 lbs from yesterday; -11 lbs overall)
Another of those days where I feel frustrated that weight is not a better reflection of effort. I realize one pound in one day is actually amazingly good, but I FEEL like I should have lost three or four today. That's the hard part about losing so much in the beginning, I suppose. It's physically impossible to keep losing multiple pounds per day after a certain point, but it just feels like your progress is languishing all the same. When you're losing a pound or less in a day, and then you know that weight can fluctuate several pounds in a given day, you worry that you're putting forth supreme effort for nothing.
I shall stay the course.
My plan for today:
Breakfast: 1 serving of all-natural vanilla yogurt. Multivitamin and Calcium/Magnesium supplement
Lunch: My homemade stew, now with twice the spinach and half the salt (garlic, onion, yellow pepper, spinach, tomato paste, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, ex virgin olive oil). Organic, choc full of nutrients, vegan, low carb, and low fat.
Throughout the day snack: Half a serving of dry Frosted Mini-Wheats (for iron and fiber)
Dinner: Two chicken breasts marinated in no more than two tablespoons of soy sauce, and with cumin to taste.
Other snacks (if needed): raw unsalted cashews, baby carrots, sliced pineapple

11 pounds in 11 days is great. Many people "diet" and don't lose that in a month. Just remember, your body is going to fight you all the way. And If you're used to eating without any discipline, your mind will mess with you. I always go through the battle of the mind. Yesterday I ate very late( 8pm) and I just wanted to go crazy and eat everything. I was happy that my wife made scallops and I ate them without any bread or rice.

"Winging it" is the hardest on a strict diet. I'm impressed. I get my ability to fight my hunger from knowing, beyond a doubt, that my body is getting all the nourishment it needs and that I therefore won't starve, pass out, or do any other kind of damage to myself by not eating. If I know, beyond a doubt, that eating more is NOT healthy as opposed to being life-giving and nourishing, it's far easier for me to deny the instinct. Short version of all that: good luck today!

What has always worked for me is to stop the sugary drinks and the bread. If i'm stuck, sometimes I go to Burger king or mcdonalds and order burgers and throw away the buns.

830 scallops and 2 salmon burgers Wow, I wouldn't have had room for salmon burgers after eating 830 scallops.

Day 11 in reflection:
Successes: Finally got some more of the good organic chicken I began this diet with and found my dinner SO MUCH more satisfying as a result. I really hadn't been enjoying dinner for the past few days, eating Purdue's All Natural chicken breasts, which are fatty, weirdly flavored, and have the wrong texture. Dinner is the big pay-off I spend each day looking toward, so I'm glad it's again enjoyable. It was really screwing with my morale. Now I feel completely satisfied again.
Struggles: Got two parties coming up this weekend, as well as Sunday brunch. Going to have to find that balance of eating what I feel like when I'm out eating socially, and also not eating so much that I regret it the next day. Additionally, tomorrow, I'm at school until 5pm and likely not going to be having a meal until 6pm (at the party -- it will likely be pizza). I'm going to have to be very purposeful about the snacks I pack for school tomorrow so that I'm not a mess for those final hours and not eating ravenously rather than for pleasure when at the party.
Failures/cheats: Speaking of morale, I didn't have enough yogurt to make up a full serving for breakfast this morning, so I had half a serving and then, feeling hungry and totally physically unsatisfied, I made myself a hot dog from the leftover BBQ stuff in the fridge. It didn't taste as good as I'd expected it to, but man did my stomach enjoy breaking it down. Considering that i'm ingesting 1400 calories a day, less than 60% of my daily allotment of saturated fats, and less than 50% of my daily allowance of carbs, I think this was probably okay, but I don't want to make a habit of it. My first cheat on the diet.
All in all: B day for me.

Day 3
My starting weight: 218 lbs My weight this morning 213(-2 from yesterday,-5 overall)
My short term goal for July 1- 190 My ultimate goal 180
This is what I consumed yesterday:
7am- 2 bananas coffee
10am- 2 apples
1pm- chicken/cole slaw
8pm- ham/muenster cheese/ mayo
Reflections the day:
I didn't really eat a lot but the beginning of my diets are always strong in body and determination so I went with the flow.My biggest meal was at 1 Pm where I stretched it a bit by eating coleslaw with a roasted chicken. You can taste all the sugar in it. But in the first few days , you can get away with some deviations and still drop the pounds. It's interesting to note that , while I was in Chile last week, the biggest meal of the day was around 2-3pm. And the last meal was a light amount of food. When you eat that way you allow your body to digest everything and it seems to keep your weight under control. It might not be scientific, but eating that way for the last week kept me from gaining what I usually gain when I take a week off.
Plan for today-
Yesterday, I felt week and dizzy at times. I suspect it's a few factors. I'm fighting a cold , it was pretty warm and I didn't eat something really solid in the AM. Today I plan to eat an omelette to start the day. The last 2 days I drank 3/4 of a gallon of water , so I will continue to drink at least that much. I'm probably going to take some food with me instead of buying things outside.

Dizziness was standard fare for me in the first week. By body is used to having a lot more carbs to draw upon for energy during the day and essentially began sputtering without all that fuel it's used to. If that's what you're going through, it's gotten better for me as my body has adjusted. Very smart idea.
