After 4 good cycle trips in succession, tonight's was a bit of a horror show - completely lacking energy and really struggling into a stiff headwind most of the way.
Today's lesson: banana cake does not work the same as energy bars! Seemed to kick in about half way home, but the first half was a trial.
Surprisingly decent time (by this year's standards), but not remotely fun, though the near miss (and following exchange of views) with some dickhead in a car, who tried to kill me, did assist with an adrenaline boost to finish the trip.
All-in-all, I think I would prefer the energy from energy bar at the start rather than the mid-trip road rage, but maybe that's just me.

I just came back from a bike ride to my LCS. 7.64 miles and 39 minutes. Awesome idea! When I was a kid, my mom used to make me walk the 2 miles to my LCS, partly because she was too lazy to drive me, and partly because I was an overweight and lazy kid in need of exercise. Well I'm still overweight, but I've loved walking ever since. Giving yourself a clear goal for exercising -- it can't fail!

I think that probably translates as "banana bread" or "banana loaf" or something like that. Lots of dried fruit in a (relatively) low-sugar home cooked loaf shaped cake. Should be high carbs for a decent amount of energy, but not quick release enough like an energy gel / bar.

I would never consider ant type of "cake" to be good for healthy eating, nor for exercise energy. But I also know that sometimes we get stuck with what we have at hand.

7-16-15
My starting weight: 218 My goal: 180 lbs weight 7 days ago 206 Today's weigh in: 206 (same weight as last week this day) Total Weight Loss ( -12)
Review of the day: I ran/walked for 25 minutes on the treadmill in my gym and later in the evening, I road my bike for another 39 minutes. I'm trying to shock my body out of the doldrums that it's been in the last week or so. I had an very uneven day as far as the eating was concerned. I ate some bran cereal in the a.m. and went to a buffet with my son at about 1pm. I didn't eat anything afterwards but it didn't undo the damage. Off days are a problem for me , it seems. Still, I lost a pound from yesterday but my calendar says there hasn't been any significant movement down in 3 weeks. I'm going to continue to bombard my body with cardio till I'm at 199.

It is what it is - best guess is around 100-150 calories a slice - more filling and less calories than a chocolate bar. Not perfect but not the worst thing in the world either. Compared to the Festival of Crap that today's diet is going to be, that was a Slice of Purest Virtue

Day 59
Today's weigh-in: 243 lbs (-3 from yesterday, -5 from before vacation)
22 lbs down / 63 to go
Back in the black, though I must admit that getting back into Less Eating Mode again yesterday was difficult. I'd like to incorporate more exercise into this diet so that I can eat more and, at the same time, feel less hungry, but finding the time is proving difficult. We hit the YMCA as a family 1 to 2 times a week, as is. I've begun doing light exercise in the morning, but it's more for tone (I'm starting to see sagging flesh where fat used to be) than anything else. In time, I'll have to choose to make exercise a priority.
For today, I'm nearly back to my lowest weight (241 lbs), so I should be pleased and worry a little less about what else I should be doing, I suppose.

I did not workout yesterday, because I had a mild form of food poisoning and did not feel like Swimming yesterday. Today, I only swam 10 laps and that's was enough. I will weigh myself tomorrow and report back to you of my current weight.

Shouted, sang and chanted myself hoarse, and pretty much ate a horse too. Certainly the large hot dog was "vairy suspicious" and pretty reminiscent of a horse part, and not in any good way. It was a day to write off as far as the diet goes (close on double my calorie target for the day), and the game wasn't great either With (hopefully) many of these evening games coming up, I'm going to need to find a much better way of fueling them. Back to the diet today - onwards and downwards with the weight!

7-17-15 Friday
My starting weight: 218 My goal: 180 lbs weight 7 days ago 207 Today's weigh in: 205 (-2 ) Total Weight Loss ( -13)
Review of the day:
Stuck to the plan although I found myself hungry at night. I ate my big meal around 130pm and I found myself eating 2 burgers and 2 chicken sandwiches from Wendys ( without the buns of course) at around 945Pm. I loss a pound from yesterday and -2 from 7 days ago. These next three days are key as I haven't shown an ability to not overeat in the weekends. My plan is to do some form of cardio each of the next three days to combat any instances of loose mouth syndrome.
