Surprised this wasn't one of the first listed: Miniaturized Godzilla vs a New York sewer rat!

Fantastic attempt by Bissette, and he nails the body and the destruction, but the face is just . . "off". . . I think that's why Art Adams became the go-to Godzilla guy back then. . he just always got the Face right.

and this one is way too recent for this contest, but this one is, by far, my fave Godzilla cover. I have the "virgin" version of this cover framed in the comic room. just beautiful.. . but way too recent for this, hence my entry is above:

I think that's why Art Adams became the go-to Godzilla guy back then. . he just always got the Face right. While Art Adams will be my overall favorite for Godzilla from what I have read (mostly DH series and B&W mangas) for some reason this cover still stands as my favorite. While I agree, that the face is much different, instead of "off" to me it seems more sinister to me. Almost like Godzilla, is giving you a smirk. Like he knows he's a dick and revels in it. Much more of a human characteristic than the run of the mill monster appearance most others draw him as. Just for ___ and giggles, my favorite Art Adams cover ...

I highly recommend reading James Stokoe's Godzilla: Half Century War. It's freaking incredible. He's my favorite Godzilla at the moment.

yeah. . Stokoe's Godzilla IS good -- he draws him like a man in a suit, which has great nostalgia factor (and he captures Darrow or Adam's level of clean detail).

Stokoe's doing another Godzilla mini later in the year. If it's half as good as Half CenturyWar, it's going to be fantastic.

I had to go with this one. Godzilla! Devil Dinosaur! Moon Boy! I'm sad there was never a Devil Dinosaur/Kamandi cross-over.
