I love the unique look the early Sea Devils covers by Russ Heath had.

You've got Thor, Ulik, and a sea monster with green dreadlocks. What more could you ask for?

Great cover, but also one of my favorite story titles, too, right up there with "Ride, Bat-Hombre, Ride!" Why not "Squeeze the Sponge Man" or "Wring Out the Sponge Man"?

It would be interesting to record ( in your mind) who you THINK will win and who actually Wins. There's always the person you vote for and the actual winner.

I'm pretty sure my pick has been posted, though it's possible someone might come up with a better choice. Once I saw a certain cover, though, I had one of those "oh yeah, that's right," moments. But I have no idea which one everyone else is going to vote for.

The cover contest here and the one at CBR are so similar this week, I hope I can remember which is which.

The cover contest here and the one at CBR are so similar this week, I hope I can remember which is which. Huh, really? What is the theme? Playing this game, I always keep a few ideas in my back pocket, just in case. I like themes that alternate between narrow and wider latitudes. Last week berk came up with a nifty idea that was pretty tight in scope so I thought I'd go the other way. And sea monsters, they are not quite gorillas, but they are pretty damn timeless. I've always had a spot for them. They invite drama! I haven't visited the contest page at our erstwhile digs in a dog's age, a couple years probably.

So there's a lot of ocean creatures in the submissions.
