I wish it wasn't that bad...but yeah it definitely comes across that way. I keep hoping they'll do something with Ron Troupe other than occasionaly parade him on panel for the sake of diversity, but the guy's now been around for eleven months (first appearing in Adventures of Superman #481), and the dude still doesn't have even the slightest hint of a personality yet. His only trait thus far seems to be being inoffensive (unless, of course, a black person tries to criticize a traditionally white institution. Then he gets pissed). |

What fascinates me is that John Henry Irons is almost exactly a year away. So, eventually, they did figure out how to write a positive Black character. I guess poor Ron Troupe was just a placeholder. Yeah, and Steel was really awesome. As much as I love the pure visual aesthetic of Superboy, Steel's story during the whole Death of Superman story was way more impactful. The Daily Planet was often my favorite aspect of Superman media adaptations. |

Yeah, he has such a great supporting cast which is why I love the Triangle Era as because the various titles were so interconnected it gave the writers time to slow things down a little and focus on such a wide cast of characters. |

Lois is the Editor in chief now I think? The supporting cast is now all Supers, so it's definitely not the focus, at least in Action.

He was the shining star from the "Return of Superman" storyline. I was really disappointed when I got the big "deluxe" 30 years of Steel collection a few months ago, and it only presented ONE story from that era, and the rest were, (with a couple of exceptions) TERRIBLE, BORING stories, done later. No one really knew what to do with him, sadly. There were a couple of stories done by Christopher Priest that were damn near incomprehensible. The 52 series featured him and Natasha quite prominently, but it was mostly a Natasha storyline. |

Lois is the Editor in chief now I think? The supporting cast is now all Supers, so it's definitely not the focus, at least in Action. Yeah, Lois is editor in chief because Perry learned Superman's identity and is thus in a coma because Lex has a virus that blocked out the fact that Superman revealed his secret identity. Yeah, it was a real bad choice and a silly solution. That said the stories currently are actually really good, only they don't focus much on the Planet staff. |

This makes me wonder if Luthor, long after this arc was over, right up to the Flashpoint reboot, was still supposed to have an Australian accent. The Aussie slang was dropped, but still, I'm curious. |
