DANGER: DIABOLIK was the final episode (so far) of MST3k: I love Danger: Diabolik. I would never have guessed that it would be a good choice for the MST3K treatment. I'll have to watch it, but I don't remember liking MST3K very much at the end.

Two On A Guillotine (1964) Connie Stevens,Dean Jones,Cesar Romero
Cassie(Connie Stevens) must spend 7 nights in her late father's creepy mansion in order to inherit his estate, Her father was "Duke"Duquesne (Caesar Romero), a Grand Guignol stage magician who used a guillotine in his act. Keeping Cassie company is Val Henderson (Dean Jones) secretly a reporter but falling in love with Cassie
Widescreen and B&W. Bloodless but fun, similar to House On Haunted Hill, with some genuine scares.Lots of creepy sound effects and a bunny rabbit with his own theme song. Dell comics did an adaptation of this movie.Connie Stevens sings a song and has a nice beehive hairdoo. She also sceams well. Since Dean Jones is in the movie, you know its safe for kids. See Cesar right before he dyes his hair green . 7 of 10 stars

I watched a classic on Sunday. Something I watch every now and then, because it's freaking awesome!
Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
Might be one of the best openings ever in movie history.

Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! is one of my favorites.
Best Tura line: It ain't down there, Columbus!
Best Haji line: We don't like nothing soft. We like everything hard!
I always cry when Boom-Boom dies.

Being a huge fan of Diablik and MST, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch this (even though I usually put on an episode of MST before falling asleep).

Might be one of the best openings ever in movie history. Arguably the best American movie of the 60s--the whole thing's on YouTube (or was for a while). While not for everyone (I'll assume), Russ Meyer is a helluva filmmaker, especially considering that he was the full package (writer/director/photographer/editor) and worked outside the system for most of his career.

Russ was a brilliant filmmaker. His eye for angles and curves and everything else was nothing short of brilliant. Guess that comes from his combat photography. About 5 years ago, LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) did a retrospective of his work. It was awesome seeing people like Tarantino and Scorcese come in and talk about Russ' films. One of the best stories I heard about Russ' shooting came from the late Cynthia Myers, from Playboy and Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. She told me that Russ wanted every take where the actor and actresses not to blink, shooting multiple takes to get the right look. Watch his films carefully and you'll see that most of them don't blink. Meyers and Corman, and Cassavetes- probably the best true outsider filmmakers in American cinema.

20,000 Years In Sing Sing (1932) Spencer Tracy,Bette Davis,Louis Calhern,Lyle Talbot D-Michael Curtiz
Tommy Connors,a big shot mobster (Spencer Tracy),lands in prison. His girlfriend (Bette Davis) works to get him freed, even if it means playing up to the new mob boss. That ends up with her in a hospital bed and doctors are certain she will die.The warden lets Tommy free for 24 hours to visit her with a promise he'll return to jail. The rival mobster gets shot, everyone figures Tommy did it and the newspapers are calling for the warden's resignation. Will Tommy honor his promised return to jail even if it means the electric chair?
The only pairing of Spencer and Bette. She looks so young and pretty.Actually filmed in Sing Sing.Good prison riot. Great opening with prisoners marching into the yard with the amount of years they're sentenced super-imposed above them. If you add it up,it's 20,000 years in Sing Sing.Truth in advertising 7of 10 stars

Might be one of the best openings ever in movie history. Agreed! It's a shame Tura Satana wasn't in more movies. Also that Meyer stopped getting films made after the 70s.

I've never seen this one but I highly recommend Fog Over Frisco and Front-Page Woman, if you're ever lucky enough to catch them.

Isn't the beginning of The Letter one of the most amazing scenes in classic American cinema?
I've seen a lot of those. (I didn't see Kid Galahad, Juarez, The Great Lie or The Bride Came C.O.D.)
She's great. I've seen so many of her movies. Even those overly-dramatic weepies that I don't usually watch are great when they have Bette Davis in them. (Joan Crawford and Barbara Stanwyck are also great to watch no matter how melodramatic the movie is.) I'm thinking of Dark Victory (which you mentioned, it shouldn't be any good, but it's great), Now Voyager, Watch on the Rhine and Mr. Skeffington.
And don't forget Deception (definitely must-see) and Satan Met a Lady (the mid-1930s adaptation of Maltese Falcon), where she plays the Brigid O'Shaughnessy role.
