That was when I would get fanatical about movies and see them more than once at the theater if I really liked them.
I saw Cry Baby three times in two weeks. I saw Wild at Heart three times over a slightly longer period.
I also liked Edward Scissorhands and Misery a lot, but I didn't see them multiple times.
My record for first-run viewings was ten times for Reservoir Dogs. I think that was 1992.
I don't do that anymore. Except for Watchmen, which I saw six times in two months.

I'll take the 1990 movie challenge with a list of the ones I enjoyed
ARACHNOPHOBIA AWAKENINGS BACK TO THE FUTURE PART 3 BAD INFLUENCE CINEMA PARADISO CRY BABY DANCES WITH WOLVES DARKMAN DIE HARD 2: DIE HARDER EDWARD SCISSORHANDS FLATLINERS GHOST GOOD FELLAS GREEN CARD HOME ALONE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER I LOVE YOU TO DEATH LA FEMME NIKITA MISERY PREDATOR 2 PRETTY WOMAN TOTAL RECALL TREMORS
I'm sure there are a few more I don't ewcall at this moment.
I'll second several on your list as favorites of mine: ARACHNOPHOBIA - John Goodman steals the movie DIE HARD 2: DIE HARDER - a Christmas movie we didn't think to watch this year, at least not yet HOME ALONE - almost like a live action Roadrunner cartoon. Kirk Douglas in "The Villain" truly achieves this. HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER - Sean Connery hijacking a sub and the quote "Ivan, have you lost another sub?" TREMORS - loved it and the sequels as well. Burt Gummer would be a terrible neighbor, except when giant worms and other monsters show up. Misery was an excellent movie, but I doubt I'll ever watch it again. She's just too scary. And possible.

[snip] I really like Awakenings, too. It's a science story and a human story. It has sadness, yet a lot of positivity. And also, Robin Williams is unusually restrained (in a good way).

Suspicion was on TCM last night and I DVRed it and I'm going to watch it before going to bed.
It's one of my all-time top favorites! It's my favorite Hitchcock film (except maybe for The Birds) and my favorite Cary Grant film (except maybe for The Awful Truth)!
I've seen it a bunch of times, but I love it anyway.
I don't know anybody but me who considers it their favorite Hitchcock. A lot of film buffs are even a little dismissive! I like the way it's put together and all the great performances. Not just Grant and Joan Fontaine (who won the Oscar for Best Actress), but Leo G. Carroll and Nigel Bruce and just about everybody.

I've been trying to find an 80's sex comedy that I thought was very popular but seems to be more obscure than I thought. I've seen it spoofed before though, and I think it may have started an entire genre of "Two guys bet on who gets laid first" type buddy comedies.
It's definitely from the 1980's, possibly 1970's, but I doubt it. It was something my dad had on home video when home video was still pretty new. It was a raunchy comedy about two guys who I believe lived in the same apartment complex, and a new girl moves in and they bet on who can score with her first. Maybe she didn't live in the same complex, I vaguely remember a telescope being used to stalk her. Anyway, one of the guys falls in love with her and then of course she finds out about the bet. I can't remember much else except it was fairly explicit, definitely an R rated movie. It was not Threesome from the 90's. I've looked at IMDB lists of 80's sex comedies and couldn't find it. I've tried searching a few keywords "80's sex bet comedy" and getting a bunch of garbage. Anyway, I figured someone here may know the movie I'm talking about.

The telescope stalking sounds like Men At Work, but the rest of the plot is completely different. (In this case she finds out about them watching her apartment with a telescope, but it's a minor plotpoint as people are shooting at them at the time).

North by Northwest - Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint and host of other fine actors including James Mason, Jesse Royce Landis, Leo G. Carroll and others is one of my all time favorite Cary Grant Movie because of the tension, the drama, and excitement, mystery, with a touch of humor and romance built in. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock and I just watched this movie off my DVR from TCM the other day and I just in awe of how well this movie holds up in time.
I learn something new every time I watch this film. I have seen it over 7 times in my lifetime and never get tired of it.

My dad had that on video too.

Given the restrictions Hitchcock had to reckon with, it's an excellent little bauble. The acting all around is spot-on, the usual mordant Hitchcock humor is on display (the dinner with the coroner, for instance), and the atmosphere and sets are perfect. This is not on the level of a Vertigo or Shadow of a Doubt, but it is, to paraphrase the reviewer Howard Thompson, "Excellent of its kind."

It's probably my third favorite nowadays.

I just happen to glance at the TV during the halftime of the Rose Bowl Game between Oregon and Florida State.

I bit the bullet and did a New Year's marathon of the first 4 Leprechaun films (I'd never seen them and got the set for $1.98).
I like the consistency that the Boom mike makes an appearance (at least once) in every film -- tho it does show up 4-5 times in Leprechaun IV: In SPACE (the same film he gets blown up in, not once, not twice, but THREE times).
the first one and 3rd one have the best acting, but over all they really are awful. And not near as bloody as I was expecting (for what I always thought were slasher films, they're actually pretty bloodless).
the winner, by a long shot, is Leprechaun III, set in Las Vegas. They knew exactly what they were making by this point and had some fun with it. The setting is great, the acting is actually above average to good (in most cases), and the story makes the most sense of all of em (other than how he ends up in Vegas as a statue in the first place).

You need to watch the 5th movie so you can see Warwick Davis' rap scene.
