Hi everyone! I wonder if someone could kindly help me here. We have a discussion on an Italian forum about how this strip was translated: In the third panel Swee'Pea uses an Italian very, very derogatory offensive term for "homosexual" ("frocio" - it's very offensive, don't use it). So we wondered what term he had used in the original strip. Do anyone have the original strip and kindly tell me what word he used? Thanks!

Was the Emperor Doom Marvel GN ever reprinted elsewhere? I've been looking at my Lone Star wish list to make an order soon, and it's one of the few GN that are priced above what I am willing to pay (at least at the moment) that I am interested to read. The New Mutants GN is super high, but I am less inclined to read it, or save it for last as I try to complete this series.

Good timing as the latest West Coast Avengers Epic Collection has it reprinted in full. Its WCA Vol. 3 "Tales to Astonish"

On the off chance, I tried Newkadia to see what their price is. But most of the time I find that Lone Star has the best prices. Not so in this case. Lone Star is selling a VF copy for $30-40 (depending on the level of VF). Newkadia had what they are grading as a NM- for $13.67. I haven't shopped there a lot in the past due to their seemingly higher prices but I have had absolutly no issues with their grading competence, so I am confident it is in good condition. So I ordered it; $18.92 with shipping charges. I feel like I got a steal here lol
That said, I have another question .... are the issues in that Epic Collection tied into the Emperor Doom GN?

It was just released this week, so I'm not sure how tied in it is with WCA (if at all). I do remember Avengers from both squads being involved in Emperor Doom. I have a feeling they needed a place in the epic collections to put the story and it worked out length wise and era wise. Several of the Marvel Graphic Novels have shown up in past epic collections.

Seems like it was released at the same time as the stories in WCA were out but it might have been written a couple of years earlier. Starfox certainly wasn't in The Avengers by 1987.

It seems strange to include the graphic novel in preference to Englehart's last two issues, WCA Annual #3 & #39.

I think it would have fit better in the first volume with the original Englehart and Hall mini series but they stuffed that to the gills with a couple of Vision/Scarlet Witch stories and the Wonder Man one shot.

So "Popeye is a sissy!" followed by "Brutus is a coward!"

Thought it was interesting that Brutus stayed Brutus, but Popeye became Braccio. Is there a direct translation for Braccio?
