Mother and daughter Black Canary both shared Oliver Queen, that rascally dirty dog, but at separate times. Its a DC comics, not Vertigo If it was Vertigo, someone would be calling BC a c--t. And I'd probably own the series too.

I thought Oracle (like Canary) was a fascinating character, and I was surprised to learn that DC had restored Barbara's legs and gave her back the cape and cowl. She seemed far more powerful as Oracle. Yes, Oh My God yes. I really liked how Oracle used personal tragedy to make her a *better* superhero - She was certainly more capable and effective as Oracle than she ever was as Batgirl. (Especially when she was in Congress. HA! Zing!) Plus "super reference librarian" was such a cool idea! I did generally enjoy the current Batgirl series but I will always be mad about the genericizing of a great character. And as a guy who's on the record as almost always preferring the original versions of a given character, I am sad that she delayed Bette Kane's inevitable comeback.

Essential Thor vol. 4 is incredibly expensive. Apparently, it wasn't reprinted and/or didn't have a big print run. Does anyone know why that's the case? It seems so weird that vol. 3 or 5 are available on Ebay for under $15, but vol. 4 runs for about $150. I just managed to order a used copy of Essential Thor vol. 4 on Amazon for under $30. Hooray for me!

Although Roy Thomas scripted the story that revealed it, making the Canary her own daughter was Marv Wolfman's idea. Cei-U! Is still kinda creeped out by it! Oh good. (I have about ten times more respect for Roy as a superhero writer than Marv.) 'Couple more points - B. C. was mostly a supporting character in the Bronze Age. She was a JLA member forever, and often appeared in Green Arrow strips - including Neal Adams classic Green Lantern/Green Arrow and the (let's try to be tactful) less classic GL/GA run that followed it a couple years later. I liked that mid 70s run... The Crumbler is still my favourite Green Lantern villain.

Whatever happened to Black Bolt and Medusa's son? Last I saw him was during Ann Nocenti's run on Daredevil.

Yes. Though it was a series of mini series, one-shots, and tie-in issues in Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy rather than a single maxi-series. -M

Thanks mrp. Was he all grown up or stil a kid? And could he still kill a goat by looking at it? Just in case... he was young enough that Medusa was made regent when Blackbolt was assumed killed in action while fighting Vulcan in the climax of War of Kings and her regency during the aftermath was one of the plot points of Realm of Kings -M

He'd apparently been in the custody of Kang the Conqueror for some time.

Did the comic book character Slam Bradley have an arch-nemesis?
Does the CCF Slam_Bradley have one?
