But you can use the flap of the dust jacket as book mark... That's what receipts are for!

It's terrifying to think that without the jacket, dust could get to your book.

So polling the group to see if I can find a working list.
I am trying to find Robert E. Howard stories adapted in the pages of Marvel Comics outside of the Conan family of books (so no CTB, SSOC, Savage Tales, King Conan etc.). I also know of the Almuric adaptation in the pages of Epic Illustrated (and later in the collected GN by DH). I am specifically interested in adaptations of REH short stories that might have appeared in the Marvel horror anthologies.
I know of at least 2, Valley of the Worm in Supernatural Thrillers #3 and Dig Me No Grave in Journey into Mystery ('72 series) #1. Are there more? I am not overly familiar with the Marvel horror books of the 70s as I never got them as a kid, and many were reprints, but some did original stories. So were there more Howard horror or other genres adapted in some of these like Vault of Evil, Tower of Shadows, Camber of Darkness etc.?
I'm trying to work through GCD as best I can, but I am headed to a small comic con on Sunday and I am running a long D&D game tomorrow (as well as playing in my bi0weekly game tonight), so I won't have a lot of time to check before the show, and I am hoping to have an idea if there are any to look out for while I am at the show. If anyone knows of any, or of a compiled list somewhere, I'd be appreciative of any assistance.
-M
addendum: I also am aware of the Kull stories in Creatures on the Loose.

I think I have that issue of Masters of Terror, but I know I haven't read it if I do (I am just beginning the process of organizing and figuring out what I have for magazine sized comics this week, so I think I saw that cover when I flipped through. -M

Marvel Premiere #33-34 were an adaptation of the Solomon Kane story "Red Shadows": And issues #1, 3, 5 & 6 of The Sword of Solomon Kane were adaptations of Solomon Kane stories by Howard (#2 & 4 were original stories by Ralph Macchio): I should have mentioned I have all the Solomon Kane (except for his 1st Marvel appearance in Monsters Unleashed) and Kull appearances. Those are some great books though, thanks for reminding me. I've been digging Pat Zircher's Solomon Kane in the new Savage Sword, I really should dig out those Marvel issues and reread them. -M

Here's one I recalled right away, MRPs_Missives . "The Horror from the Mound" was the original title. Adapted by Gardner Fox; art by Frank Brunner. After checking this out after you pointed it out, I discovered there's another Howard adaptation in issue #3 of Chamber of Chills (reprinted in Masters of Terror #2 I believe). Thanks for pointing this out for me. -M

Kull and the Barbarians, the black and white Kull magazine that I assume was meant to be the Kull equivalent to SSoC. It lasted only three issues, to my sorrow. The story in #3 by Doug Moench and Vicente Alcazar makes me wish this magazine-comic had had a long run with Alcazar as the artist.

The story in #3 by Doug Moench and Vicente Alcazar makes me wish this magazine-comic had had a long run with Alcazar as the artist. It's a great series (I read it the tail end of last year). I've managed to put together almost all the Marvel REH stuff. I'm missing the first Kane in the aforementioned Monsters Unleashed, and 2 of the Conan OGNS (Conan the Rogue and Ravagers out of Time), and then the handful of random REH horror stories that were adapted in the various horror anthologies that I was unaware of. I knew about and had Supernatural Thrillers #1, I found out about the story in Journey into Mystery #1 form the Jeffrey Shanks interview I posted a link to in the Titan Conan thread in the modern comics section, which spurred me to find out what other issues I might be missing to try to track down on Sunday if I can. There's a couple of variants from the recent Marvel stuff (particularly the Toth variant for CTB #25) I am interested in and don't have, but I have the reg covers so I am not in a rush to get those). So far all I have on the list is JiM #1 and Chamber of Chills 2 & 3. Monster Unleashed might be a bit too pricey for me at this point, but I'll see what I can find. I have all the DH Conan stuff I think (except for a Joe Kubert variant of Conan the Cimmerian #1, but I have the reg cover and 4 of the Frazetta cover series), the Kane and Kull stuff too, but there's an Almuric sequel mini I don't have, and I need to track down some of the Ablaze stuff, a couple of random IDW books that have REH adaptations (such as Spookshow #2) and a random issue of Tales Of Voodoo from Eerie that has an REH adaptation in it (Vol. 4 #% or Vol. 6 #2 which reprints that story). Of course there's the Mexican Conan comics riffing off of Queen of the Black Coast and a series of French Conan comics from the 70s ( 5 total entitled une aventure de Conan) that I'd love to find but have never seen in the wild), but I am just trying to pin down if there are any other REH adaptations out there that I should or could be looking for. Focusing on US produced books first though, since they are easier to find info about. -M

PS those French une aventure de Conan books look to be mostly reprints of Marvel SSOC material. Does anyone know if they were all reprints, or if they had any original material in them?

Published in 1988. Joe Lansdale and Nathan Fox did a later adaptation, for Dark Horse.

I think I do but I have to double check. If its the one I am thinking of it's album (i.e. magazine) sized and I had it on my card shop spinner until last fall when I switched out comics for rpg stuff on that spinner. It's part of the piles of magazine sized comics I still need to organize and verify my cataloging of them to make sure I have it correctly recorded. -M
