I'd say start at the First Issue Special and go until Mike Grell leaves. It's unreadable after Grell, in my opinion. I have the entire run, and I'd would agree with this assessment (generally). I wouldn't say the run is unreadable after Grell, but the quality does notably drop. Thanks for the suggestions. During the 80s, I acquired a single issue or two of various DC lesser titles or minis so I have some idea of about those runs but for some reason, I don't recall ever seeing Warlord on sale in my neighborhood.

Idea for a comic book: A man gifted with superhuman knowledge. The trade-off is that sharing that information slowly kills him. A little like the tragedy of Kid Psycho. (There's a great hero name.)

So tempted, just this once, to abuse my site custodian powers and change Kurt's username and avatar...

Best way to remove mildew smell from comics? Interested if anyone here has tried anything that works well as I have a few books starting to smell that I would consider "cleaning".

And a second question while it is on my mind...why was this issue of ASM given the different looking price box compared to others in the run?

And a second question while it is on my mind...why was this issue of ASM given the different looking price box compared to others in the run? That particular issue was part of the price testing going on at the time. There are 30 cent versions of that issue as well. Price testing was done in select areas of the country. I'm guessing that comics shipped to those select areas had distinctive price tags

Marvel Adventures: Spider-man #57, according to what I found. I don't have the issue but it sounds like a lot of fun! Loved those old Marvel Adventures series, some real fun stuff. I think it was Tobin & Parker that wrote most of them. Seem to remember a pretty great Galactus story in which he pulls the FF forward in time to the heat death of the universe, ostensibly to help him against Annihilus, but actually just to say goodbye as he was feeling sentimental.

There was talk recently on the forum about a DC War comics featuring monsters in them. Maybe Our Fighting Forces? Anyway, I remember thinking "I need to read that"! But I can't remember what title/Isues it was.

First and final issues: A DC Showcase Presents that collected most of those stories was published a few years ago.

It was just a few issues in a war title, and I want to say that the "heroes" were the famous monsters (Werewolf, Mummy, etc...
