Q: For those of you out there who collect toys, statues, and the like, what do you do about dust? I've tried using dust brooms, and they haven't been good for the level of miniature detail. I've seen electric dusters on Amazon selling for $50+, but is there a simpler solution I'm missing?

I don't dust my entertainment system or shelves as often as I should, but when I do I use a combination of those Swiffer dusters and microfiber computer cloths for figures and various collectibles. I only have nine figures and about seven cups and various misc to deal with, so it's not that big of a chore for me. Those with massive collections have to keep up on the dusting I'm sure.

Have you tried those little cans of air for computers to get the tough spots?

Have you tried those little cans of air for computers to get the tough spots? The reviews for them on Amazon have not been promising. Generally, folks complain that the air pressure isn't consistent. |

Dust is one of the reasons why I keep my more expensive and/or fragile collectibles in a display cabinet. I've seen dusters that come in the shape of a glove, which would give you the ability to dust something that's more irregularly shaped like toys or figures.

I have a 2 gallon air compressor which I got a air blower attachment for. Probably works about as well as the canned air, and doesn't cost me per can. Obviously I didn't buy the air compressor for just dusting, but since I already had it, I figured I give it a try.
I'd love to have enclosed cabinets to display them in to keep them clean, but I have far too many and can't afford the cabinets. I have most of the figures from the Marvel Legends series as well as from the DC Universe classics, and many from DC Direct and other companies too. |

This free Windows 10 roll out that will start at the end of this month. Am I being smart by letting them download the files but not installing it until I hear/read other people's opinions? The roll out is free for 1 year so why should I rush?

The normal wisdom is to wait until Service Pack 1 is out (aka, let everyone else find the bugs), but with the way they're now going to be updating frequently with minor updates, I'm not sure that holds anymore. Personally, I would give it a month or 12

The roll out is free for 1 year so why should I rush? I've signed up to download as soon as it's released. Most times people do wait, but I've had more than enough of Windows 8. Even if there are problems with 10, which I don't think there will be major ones because of all the testing they've done to avoid another fiasco like 8, at least they'll be new problems. |

When I find a solid and reliable OS, I don't upgrade until I absolutely have to. I buy my computers used, so I don't ever get an OS until everyone and their mother has already been using it for a while. I clung to Windows 98 for ages before moving to XP, then to Windows 7 two years ago, and I'll stick with that, as well, until they stop providing updates and/or I need a new computer and have heard great things about Windows 10.
Really, unless you're a PC gamer, what's the rush?

We don't dust my action figures and suchlike at all. Every couple of months, they take a nice bath in the kitchen sink with their good friend Dawn. Works like a charm.
