This is terrifying seeing a damsel in distress being forced to an electric chair to die. indeed, my gut churned when I saw this. worse yet, it seems to be at the whim of a mafioso, judging by the champagne. A hairy one , judging by his hands...

Batman Detective Comics really had some scary front covers from back then in the 1980s.

Batman Detective Comics 584 Fever Break. That's pretty much scary to me.

I posted a cover with a similar mummy earlier in the thread.

I posted a cover with a similar mummy earlier in the thread. Oh yes. In fact I suggest you repost this in the 'Homages/Swipes' thread, although it's hard to find Mummy covers that don't always cover a lot of the same ol' ground. I mean the sarcophagus kinda has to be there, in one way or another, analogous to the coffin for vampires. But the difference here is the 'in vs out' no pun intended. Leaving a sarcophagus to menace vs. forcing someone into a sarcophagus to horrify. Sadly Mummy covers, in their overarching graphic context, are more limited than Vamp covers, which wounds me since I love the greater tragedy of a mummy and couldn't give a #@!!! about vampires.

She gets around. I notice that the most repeated element is not the 'horror' element, here.
