Editora Continental in Brazil was started by a pair of artists who got tired of taking the bus to work while their bosses bought new cars every year. No joke. One of their aims was to have their books be entirely written & drawn in Brazil, as opposed to those publishers who only wanted to go the cheap but successful route of licensing foreign imports from the USA. The last 4 years, I've had a genuine fascination with this company, which went thru 3 different names in its run (Continental, Outubro & Taika).
They had a LONG-running "Dracula" series more than a decade before Marvel.

Most (all?) stores in Brazil do NOT like doing business with the US, which makes it very difficult to get any books from there (unless someone sells on Ebay, or some one down there wants to help via a "finder's fee" and paying double for shipping). I only have 3 Taikas in my entire collection... but I have a TON of scans from fan sites, and cover scans from selling sites. I've put a lot of work into cleaning up the scans as much as I can, and am slowly assembling a blog with these images.
It always takes time away from my "main" fan project, but sometimes I need a "break" (heh).
