A few comments and observations... Just love Shakespeare and used the first character name that popped into my mind. (I may have been reading Henry IV at the time, but I can't remember.) Whereas I had always assumed that your username was inspired by Prince Valiant and Hal Foster. I'm a trombone player and I picked it up after 15 years to Play for the Lord Jesus Christ at international Christian Center church . There was a time that I wanted to change it to gn6196 but the CBR didn't let me so icctrombone is my handle forever more. Whenever I sing or hear the trucker anthem "Six Days On the Road", I always think of you when it gets to the line, "Now, the ICC's been a-checkin' on down the line." I wanted a name that would be distinctive and suited to the comic-book world: adventurous-sounding but humorously self-deprecating. I also wanted it to be somehow related to the French-speaking world.. Back when I first encountered you in the old CBR forum, I had never heard of Roquefort cheese, so your username somehow conjured up images of Davy Crockett types, the Texas Revolution and The Alamo. Yeah...no idea why really. Must've been the "fort" part, I guess. As for my username, when I first joined up at CBR I wanted to take one of my favourite superheroes as my username and going for some variation of Spider-Man seemed a bit boring. So, instead I went for The Confessor from Kurt Busiek's Astro City series, because I absolutely loved the story arc where the original Confessor appeared.

Can't believe I never posted on this topic! Well, anyway Golddragon71 is my primary Internet Handle It's a mixture of my Character The Golden Dragon as well as my birth year (1971) Here's how I came up with GD soon after I created GD I decided to give him his own team Recently I went ahead and put together his (abbreviated) origin

How did I miss this thread ?
Very interesting origin stories !
My name is Mark, but my close friends and family have always known me as Hondo.
My dad was throwing a poker party and I was a little 3 year old running around and his friends all gave me sips of beer. Got a little wild, and one of the guys said I was a little Hondo, the hell raising cowboy John Wayne played in the movie of the same name based on a Louis Lamour novel.
Pop called me that and it stuck ever since.
In fact, I'm quite sure most of the other students at the private college I attended didn't know my real name.

A friend and I misheard a bit of stage banter on a crappy cassette copy of Ozzy Osbourne's crappier live album, Speak of the Devil. Ozz was reminiscing about his early days in Black Sabbath. What we heard was, "We'd like to do a number now that I haven't done since 1971, with good old Phil Maurice! Does anybody remember ol' Phil Maurice? We used to get sh*t-faced every night! A few groupies, huh?"
Embarrassingly, for years (!) we asked every hippy-ish looking baby boomer we encountered whether they had ever heard of this mysterious Phil Maurice. Was he a session player? A dealer? A pimp? A guru? No answers were forthcoming.
The double face-palm when it finally dawned on my friend and me that Ozzy was talking about The Filmore East, rock promoter Bill Graham's legendary Manhattan venue, was so epic it left imprints. That's funny. I always thought Phil Maurice was your real name.

As for mine, I decided to throw my first name out there, hence the Brian part. I began on CBR as Brian Gravity, because Gravity was taken and that was a name I was using on message boards at the time. When CCF came around I changed it to Bronze Age Brian (my favorite comics era) up until recently when I felt it's just too long. So now I'm just going with an abbreviation of that, which is bab.

brutalis was given to me by my best friend in college. I grew up being Bruce the moose but once college came along a bunch of us got into Dungeons and Dragons. My friends character was Thesdian the Bone Crusher and for my 1st game we teamed up. As i am such a quiet, respectful and honest person in real life we went the opposite for my character. I became Brutalis the brutal one from Gaul so me and my barbarian brother would get into character and rampage during the gaming. Other's heard him calling me brutal or brutalis at work and it stuck. Been a berserk barbarian ever since.

JUGGERNAUTBecause of Several Reasons alone: 1) It was the accidental find of a rare X-Men 13 book a mere 3 months ago of which I found this comic book and I had it appraised at my local comic book store of which a professional appraiser of comic book declared this issue worth $1,150 of which I did not know that I had all these years because I did not want to bother with the hundreds and hundreds of Fantastic Four issues that I had and I wanted to sort them in order and get my books in proper sequence and I was shocked to see this issue in the bunch of Fantastic Four Issues. 2) Juggernaut was unstoppable and he was my call sign of a club that I belong to. 3) Outside of Doctor Doom he is my favorite Marvel Villain and I had to change it to reflect the sheer size of power and destruction that this villain has shown to me. He's 9'5" and nearly 2,000 pounds and that alone makes anyone fear him and that's makes him alone unreal and makes his presence known.

I used to be Sabra Stillyour (later changed to Stilyore) and then altered it to Quinn in homage to Harley Quinn. I make it no secret that she's my favorite. But I changed it to Yip Yip because...um...I forget actually. I like foxes? I think just 'cause it was cute.
