Depending on my work schedule I hope to attend the Baltimore convention Sept 5-7.

I've heard so many great things about the Baltimore Con over the years. It's a little far for us, but I'm going to have to make the drive some day. Several folks have told me it's a scaled down, less insane San Diego Comic Con.

You can make it a mini vacation. The Orioles stadium is only a few blocks away from the convention center. Also the National Aquarium is there.

Baltimore is less than an hour from me. I've been meaning to check it out over the years but always had something come up which prevented me from doing so. Hopefully I'll be able to make it this year.

I've attended the last few years. It is a great con.
Not sure about this year.

I've attended the last few years. It is a great con. Not sure about this year. How are the crowds? Are there a lot of long lines? Would you say it's pretty well run and organized? From what I've seen, it seems to be much more of a straight-up comics-oriented con, as opposed to a more general pop culture con that seems to be the growing trend these days.

I have been to the Phila Wizard con & it has become too crowded & too focused on the celebrities. It is too expensive & has less comic book tables each year.
The Baltimore con is definitely comics oriented & smaller. It has become better organized over the years. One year lack of parking was a problem due to too many events scheduled that weekend in that area.
If you want to meet celebrities go to Phila. If you want to "hunt" for great deals on comics go to Baltimore.

Damn, that's a nice list of confirmed guests so far...
I need to head out to Charm City again. Comics and do a Homicide: Life on the Streets tour.

I found the crowding at acceptable levels. Not as bad as Emerald City for example. I wouldn't know about the lines as I avoid lines at all costs. It is definitely well-organized. Still pretty comics-focused, but with pop culture leaking in each year.

I will be there on Sun. I will be dressed as a 50+ middle aged man ...my daughter is going to be either Black Widow or Black Canary.
Come up & say hi. I'm Michael...my daughter's name is Cara (named after Supergirl but spelled with a "c").
