I don't remember which one topped my 12 Days list, but it would have been one of these two:

My current Batman reading project brought me to this issue, which was the first Batman comic I ever bought. I forgot how much I loved this cover. I'm pretty sure I bought this comic pretty much because of the cover (and the fact that I just saw the Michael Keaton Batman in the theaters).

No way I could ever pick just one. There are so many. These are some of my all time favorites as well.

The top 5 in no particular order... -M These would definitely be two of my picks. The Frazetta doesn't count as a comic book cover for me since I think I first saw it as a paperback cover. The Enemy Ace one is outstanding but not one of my personal top ten, probably at least in part because I didn't see it as a youngster - nostalgia tends to play a large part in this kind of thing with me.

Way too many. . but for years I had a photocopied (and blown up) version of this on my wall, that I had hand colored with markers. still love it: and I'd rank this as easily top 2 of my all time faves:

This used to be my go-to answer to that question: But it might be this: Obviously, the link I had here is dead now. If anyone remembers what I had here, I'm damn curious to know.

If someone said "Think of a comic book cover that you love," this is the first thing that comes to mind: So this must be the one.

My favorite "special" issue would have to be Batman vs The Incredible Hulk. No surprise there, since those two are my favorite Marvel and DC characters. As far as my favorite cover of a regular series, I'm going to go with Fantastic Four #249. This cover imprinted itself on my brain the first time I saw it. Cool as hell and a bit disturbing seeing the FF so utterly defeated like that. This was Byrne at the peak of his powers.

He had been working almost exclusively on FF up to that point, but that month he already had another comic on the stands, next month was a double-sized issue. Soon he'd take on AF too, and started a clear decline.

There's something about The Scarecrow's pose that seems unearthly - he's tilting, drifting backwards into the abyss himself, yet in no danger as he commands the elements around him. He looks like death himself.
