We need Jez here and soon. There is a complete gender imbalance here. As in with classic comics collectors, in general. MY LCS owner regularly comments that the majority of new readers are female, and yet the classic comics generally still attract older men. I'd love to see more diversity here, myself.

I got Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits and Doors 13 about the same time in 1980 or 1981, and I used to listened to them all the time. I have Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits on vinyl. It's in great shape too still has the plastic wrap. Neither of my vinyls players work at the moment though. Ok I'll fess up. I love the Carpenters. There, I said it. Everyone should post their soft rock guilty pleasures! And did you know that "We've Only Just Begun" was actually taken from a California bank commercial? Check out that funky bass line:

Oh, I don't mean to come off as mean. I just noticed that I am, what, the only girl here so far? Surely there are more ladies to be found that love classic comics as much as I do?

No, I know you were agreeing with me. I just added the first part because when I re-read my post, I felt I might have sounded mean/snotty/demanding, etc.

My father is a big fan of the Carpenters and I grew up listening to them. I still enjoy her singing she is a very talented gal. A shame what took her life.
My mother liked and listened to Johnny Mathis a lot, but I never really picked up on his music much.
Two of my aunts were big John Denver fans and I have always enjoyed his music all my life. Damn shame he got in the stupid plane.
Other soft rock I enjoy
Air Supply ELO Kenny Rogers Roger Whittaker
and a whole lot of random sentimental, cry in your alcohol, type songs.
Edit: Hey Miss CW, good to see you. I too wish Miss Jezebel will find us. We can't have a comic discussion without any Rob Liefield hate and she fills that void.

In the shop I worked, except for a two of them, all girls were into manga. I feel the trend hasn't changed in the last 10 years.

As with most demographics, it depends upon age group. A lot of female readers in their 20s and 30s are looking at the indy, non superhero output in general.

That could be it, one of the two was in her 30s, and she was the only no-teen, out of all the female clientele (something my ex didn't exactly appreciate).

I haven't read enough Liefeld to determine if there is any hate in me for him or not. Oh no, WAIT! He drew that super duper steroid Captain America, didn't he?
We were just talking about that on CBR.
