We need Jez here and soon. There is a complete gender imbalance here. We also used to have an occasional poster who went by, IIRC, Miss Fantastic, or something similar to that. What her posts lacked in quantity they possessed in quality, to my mind. *a blue carpet rolls in, only to assume humanoid shape of a brown-haired girl* Hi ho! The resident Fantastic Four nerdette here, back and at y'all's service! I did sign up at the new CBR, but haven't been posting there and over the last couple of months due to laying low because of some infernal personal mess that occurred and best left at that much said. And with that said, you can't get a more fresh start than this! I do believe I'm going to like it here...  BTW, a most tremendous thanks to Ood Omega/Art School Dropout for pointing me in this place's direction.  |

May I invite some people here? No. The absolute last thing we want here is new people bringing interesting new perspective and discussion  Please do so! YAY! I asked because sometimes new boards are started because of some super snarky individuals on CBR, and when that happens, things get clamped down, and admins rightfully want to kind of screen new members, so other members have to be real careful about who they invite. |

You're the one who wasn't so keen on Stan Lee as a writer until you read Silver Surfer.
You stopped at #3?!?!?! Silver Surfer #4 is one of the highlights of the late Silver Age!!!!
Well, you'll get to it eventually.

YAY!!! Another lady. Welcome, Welcome, WELCOME! <3 While this is obviously a male-heavy place, I have to believe there are more than 3 girls. (It would be very sad if we were 95 males and 3 females). Perhaps a "Where my girls at" thread of some kind would show there are more than it seems. Or perhaps it really is that bad. |

Seems like I'm number #100 Thanks for the invites and to those who wondered where I was. I had one concern that I seem to have resolved using a certain feature in Profile. Well, about me. My real name is Kayla, or Kay for short, I'm a Brit who currently resides in the sunny southern caribbean with her boy-toy husband and I have a condition that I never seemed to outgrow - I read and collect comics. The reader side of me enjoys a bit of everything. The collector side of me is sometimes frowned upon by others...as I welcome the world of high-grade (expensive) comics, speculation, CGC and wheeling and dealing. I do a bit of the latter as it helps subsidise my own personal buys...it's fun when a hobby helps pay for itself. What else can I say? Jez by day is a wife, mom, Accountant, bar-owner, landlady and my comics-dealer wants to get under my skirt. So I get to read a shit load for free. I help him source and sell books too. He knows I'll break him in half if he tries anything. He's also one of my best friends. I bet he's reading this, you horny little bastard. My current interests are almost evenly split between new and old books. I don't dismiss the new material, it's not all that bad. At my time of typing this I just landed Wolverine Max 1-15...entire set, hell yeah, I love seeing the F-Bomb in comics. Might have something to do with being a webmistress on an adult board but I digress. Favourite music - 80s New Wave British bands, especially Duran Duran; Harder material by Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Scorpions etc. Currently loving my Lana Del Rey cd and 30 different remixes of Blue Jeans... Anything else, feel free to ask. |
