Hi, my name is Steve and I am not actually a comic collector, I am a collector of nostalgia; specifically, nostalgia as it relates to my childhood. Having said that, there are a number of comic books that come to mind from that period of my life and I will be in search of them - hopefully, with all of your help, I may be able to track down some of these items and relive a bit of my childhood.

Ah, I should have introduced myself already - apologies! I was lured to this forum by Cei-U!, who invited me to participate in his 12 Days of Classic Comics Christmas. I was born in '66 and grew up voraciously reading comic books in the 1970s. My reading waned in the 1980s and the last new superhero comic books I read were Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns, and Batman: Year One. I returned to reading Silver Age and some Golden Age comics around 2002, when I wrote my dissertation on superhero films. Since then, I've fully immersed myself in Silver Age comics and dip a toe or two into the Golden Age from time to time. I know very little about superhero comics after 1987.

Welcome to the CCF Mister Spaceman . Here's to a long and prosperous life here with us fellow silver, gold and bronze age (along with the rest of you pesky kids since then) comic book folk!  I was born August of 62' so like you the 70's were my days of fun and frolic in reading and collecting. |

We met at an academic conference on comics at the University of Oregon in 2009. I'm constantly in awe of his comic book knowledge. Plus he's an all-round good egg! |
