I think lower prices would be a nice thing to see wish they would do this  it would help sales imo. |

I can only assume the marketing people at DC and Marvel corporate have analyzed and decided that that's not the best way to maximize profits.
I personally make cover price a factor in my decision to purchase, but I don't thin that many people do... more often, they have a 'comic budget' and spend it as far as it goes, or buy a few specific title regardless of price and that's that.
Marvel did the 99c books in the 90s (which I loved), but they didn't last long. I don't know how the $1 keys and 'firsts' sell, but I don't notice them on the sales charts, so my assumption is not very well.
